Are you buying the Jaydon Blue hype?
Jaydon Blue may have been the biggest winner of Cowboys OTAs. After questions about consistency and trust limited his role as a rookie, Brian Schottenheimer is now praising Blue's growth and work ethic. If those concerns are truly behind him, Dallas could finally have the explosive complement to Javonte Williams that the offense has been missing. It was all about work ethic, trust issues with the coaching staff, and as Coach Brian Schottenheimer consistently said it, consistency.
So now to hear Schottenheimer talk about Jayden Blue as a player that is night and day compared to last year, it should quickly translate to a high snap count for Jayden Blue, in my opinion, as long as he keeps the work ethic up.
Brian Schottenheimer said in a recent press conference that he is seeing a completely different Jayden Blue.
He said that he came into the building with a new look in his face, and I gotta tell you, this matters because the Cowboys offense was efficient when running the football with Javonte Williams, but it was not explosive.
The Cowboys were a top six in EPA per attempt and success rate, but they were 27th in explosive play rate according to Sports Info Solutions.
So, so to see Jayden Blue get this work ethic issue and drama in the rear view mirror could translate into a legitimate one-two punch in the Cowboys' backfield, and I'm buying this storyline because I don't think Brian Schottenheimer would be saying what he's saying if it wasn't true
