Cardinals' 30th Spring Training in Jupiter, Fla., Could be Wiped Out by Labor Strife
The Cardinals released their Spring Training schedule for their 30th season in Jupiter, Fla., but those games might never materialize because of looming labor strife between the MLB Players Association and the league's 30 owners.

The St. Louis Cardinals, along with every team in Major League Baseball, unveiled their 2027 spring training schedule on Friday.
Now let's all chuckle and hold our breaths and wonder if that's actually gonna take place.
Are we gonna have baseball in 2027?
Are we gonna have spring training?
Are we gonna have a full season?
The collective bargaining agreement between the Players Association and the owners expires on December first.
There are major, major differences between the two sides.
Heck, they can't even agree on what's actual revenue.
There's gonna be attempts, to, to get a salary cap put in place.
The players have said they will never agree to that.
Meanwhile, there's gonna be attempts to get a salary floor put in place, and there's some ownership groups that don't want that in place because then they'll have to spend even more money.
So you know it, it's debatable whether we will even have a spring training, but if we do, it'll be the Cardinal's thirtieth year having spring training in lovely Jupiter, Florida.
The Cardinals are set to play fifteen games as the home team, fifteen games as a road team.
The good thing is they split their stadium, Roger Dean Stadium, with the Marlins.
They'll play there four times as a visitor.
That means they'll play nineteen games at Roger Dean Stadium.
This year, the Red Sox are coming to Roger Dean Stadium on March second.
The Braves will be there March fourth.
The Cardinals will also play the Nationals four times and the Mets, Astros, and Marlins three times at home.
They will make their annual trip to the west coast of Florida on February twenty-first and twenty-second.
They'll play the Braves in North Port, Florida, on the twenty-first, and then they'll play the Red Sox, in Fort Myers on February twenty-second.
The Cardinals only have one split squad game this year.
March twentieth, they'll be the home team against the Marlins that day, and then they'll also have a-- another squad go into West Palm Beach to play the Nationals that day.
The Cardinals o-only have two off days, March third and March sixteenth, and they will...Uh, they're gonna be playing on five of the ten weekend days during spring training.
So, you know, it's out there.
The schedule's out there.
Let's hope we have a spring training.
You know, a lot of people view spring training as baseball in its purest form.
It's, it's a great time.
If you ever get a chance to come down to Florida, it's, it's incredible.
The weather's great.
Hearing the crack of the bat and, and seeing the players, you know, really lay down the foundation for the season, it's always a great time.
You can get close to the players.
You can have conversations with the players.
You can get autographs.
It's a great time.
And let's hope that sometime between December first and the start of spring training, that owners and players can get together and get this thing solved so that we have a spring training and we have a full season in 2027.
