Carlos Mendoza, Juan Soto and Jonah Tong react to the Mets frustrating loss in Miami

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza acknowledged that the Mets offense had a tough time against Marlins starter Eury Perez save for Juan Soto 's solo home run in the their 2-1 loss. Mendoza was encouraged by Jonah Tong's relief appearance in his 2026 MLB debut, pitching three scoreless innings. Tong said it was "awesome" to be with the big club again and continues to trust the organization's process in his development.
