Carlos Prates Shuts Down Disrespectful Question About Former Opponent

During a promotional Q&A ahead of UFC 325, welterweight Carlos Prates refused to engage with an indecent fan question and emphasized respect outside competition. Prates cited cultural norms and reiterated mutual respect with rival Ian Garry, clarifying that families are off-limits despite their UFC rivalry. The exchange occurred alongside flyweight champion Joshua Van at the event. Prates, who debuted in the UFC in 2024, rose quickly with four straight finishes before his only UFC loss to Garry. He has since recorded consecutive knockout wins over Geoff Neal and Leon Edwards, reinforcing his profile while maintaining a firm stance on decorum beyond the Octagon.
