The Chicago Bears made a depth move on Friday in wake of the Kobe Bryant injury.

Bryant was injured on August 3rd, and it was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that he had hyperextended, hyperextended his knee at practice and was expected to be out for at least eight to ten weeks.

Head coach Ben Johnson was asked about the timeline, at a recent press conference and sounded very confused as he wasn't sure where people were getting this information from.

Whether or not the injury is as severe as people are making it sound, the Bears didn't waste any time and their, PR account on X announced that they had signed veteran defensive back Xavier Woods and had placed, injured defensive back Dallas Flowers on the injured reserve list.

Flowers suffered a, a knee-- a right leg injury at, practice recently and needed help off the field, showing just how severe the injury truly was.

Woods has been in the NFL for quite some time, as he started out with the Dallas Cowboys in twenty seventeen.

He, stayed with them through the twenty twenty season but was not awarded a, second contract, even though he secured the starting job just two years into his tenure with them.

He then, joined the Minnesota Vikings for one year before staying with the Carolina Panthers from twenty twenty th-two through twenty twenty-four.

He spent last season with the Tennessee Titans, where he, played in eleven games with ten starts before suffering a hamstring injury late in the year and eventually being placed on the injured reserve before being released by the team in February.

In, the games he played, he accounted for two interceptions and thirty-nine total tackles.

At the end of the day, this is nothing more than a depth move for the Bears and should not sound any alarms throughout Bears country.

Bryant still has plenty of time to recover from this injury, even if he is out for eight to ten weeks, as the regular season doesn't start until, September thirteenth for Chicago.

This really is nothing to worry about, as Woods will just be a depth piece at the end of the day as a precautionary move with this Bryant injury.
