Chicago Bears Quarterback Caleb Williams Shares His Goals for 2026 Season
Driven by Super Bowl ambitions, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is prioritizing pinpoint accuracy among some of his goals for the 2026 NFL season.

Nicholas Moriano here from Bears Roundtable Sports.
I think it's pretty clear, and Caleb Williams has talked about this really ever since he was thinking about his journey into the NFL.
He wants to go down as one of the greatest to ever play this game.
He wants to win Super Bowls.
He wants to do that in Chicago.
When Ben Johnson spoke to the media on Thursday at mandatory mini camp, he referenced that first conversation he ever had with Caleb Williams and noted that those goals were expressed back then, and they're still the goals right now.
And so for Caleb Williams to ultimately get to that mountaintop, Super Bowl champion, multiple Super Bowl champion, I think first he needs to go back to almost to the drawing board.
That's just completing passes.
It's something that's been under the microscope since Ben Johnson became the head coach leading up to the 2025 season, and it's still an emphasis right now.
And so with that message that Caleb wants to win Super Bowls, they need to focus on what they can actually do right now, because right now, Caleb can't win a Super Bowl.
Season hasn't been played.
But what he can do is gradually increase his ball placement, his completion percentage, put the ball in spots where it's gonna give his playmakers the best opportunities to make plays.
And so what this coaching staff is doing, they are going and talking about this daily.
They're even grading Caleb Williams on his ball placement and just putting that into his mind every single day.
And Ben Johnson said this about the ball placement accuracy.
This is what he had to say.
"It's something that he's taken to heart.
I think he's critical of himself.
It's something that you wanna see from individual drill work to carry over to routes on air to the team settings as well.
You are far from a finished product.
It's always a challenge for us.
It doesn't matter if you're a rookie or going into year 10.
I think it's always a big piece of the quarterback equation."
And for Caleb Williams, he said simply that just being aware of ball, of his ball placement has allowed him to actually get better at it.
So when thinking about what are his goals, just for the 2026 season, what is the next way that he can level up his play?
Here's what Caleb Williams had to say.
"For me, it's just get the completion percentage up, keep the offense on the field more, score as many points as possible, be the highest scoring in offense.
That's part of, that's part of my part in the team, going out there orchestrating it.
Then being able to go out there and score, whether it's handoffs or passes, whatever, that doesn't matter.
It's just being able to put up as many points as possible to help our team win as many games as possible.
Then keeping the turnover rate low."
Those are Caleb Williams' goals, but the first thing he mentions is that completion percentage.
So going into this 2026 season, when games are ultimately being played, that's where my area, area of focus is going to be on when evaluating Caleb Williams and his play in year two of Ben Johnson's offense.
Is he just simply completing more passes?
That also takes his teammates, too, to catch the football and do their part.
As Williams said, he has to do his part.
We'll see how that plays out in this 2026 season.
But before Johnson and Williams can think about winning a Super Bowl and multiple, they just need to do what they can right now, and that's just complete one pass at a time.
