Chicago White Sox Surprise as Potential Postseason Team
This season, the Chicago White Sox have surpassed expectations and find themselves in contention in the AL Central, boasting strong postseason prospects.

You know, I, I'm gonna go back to a team we mentioned earlier, and that's the Chicago White Sox.
This was an organization that was supposed to be the worst team in the American League.
Now, you made the point earlier, there's a lot of bad teams, a lot of bad baseball going on in the American League right now, but Sox have to be a storyline of both Chicago teams.
I mean, here's both Chicago teams with the potential of maybe getting into the postseason here, but this White Sox team has been a surprise in the first half.

They've been actually my favorite team to watch outside of my, my, my favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
And in, in large part they're kind of the same identity where they just said, "Hey, we're gonna throw a lot of young guys and exuberance and energy into these lineups and these rotations, and we're just gonna see what happens."
And what has happened is a lot of these young ch- young guys have kind of seen that opportunity as a, "Hey, this is my career.
This is what I wanna, been wanting to do since I was a kid.
I'm not paid.
You know, I'm not paid like the Bryce Harpers, Manny Machados, Fernando Tatis's of the world.
I'm gonna go out there and I'm gonna grind.
I'm gonna run to first base on every single ground, or I'm gonna make chaos happen."
That's who the White Sox are.
When you watch them one through nine, there's not a hitter in that lineup on any given day, whether you're talking about Tristan Peters, who was a Savannah Banana three years ago.
You know, I, I, I look at just the, the energy, the excitement, the fun that they're having, and that's what ultimately baseball should be like in every single clubhouse.
But you watch the Yankees, who are second in the AL right now, and everything, it, it feels like it's, you're just, like, watching, like, a, a funeral service.
It just kind of feels like nope, everybody's checked out, everybody's in it for themselves.
The White Sox are not, the Cardinals are not.
Heck, even the Pittsburgh Pirates are not.
A lot of young teams right now in Major League Baseball are kind of making their way and, and I love to see it personally.
How in God's name are the Brewers a 59-win baseball team?
Every year.
You know, I mean, outside of Christian Yelich, right?
I mean, what Is it the division?
Is it the way that they run that organization?
You know, you talk about Moneyball down in Tampa, here's another version of it, right?
In Milwaukee.
Yeah.
Every year they're in the conversation.
How?
Yeah.
No, it's, it's exactly.
I think you nailed it when you're talking about comparing them to Tampa.
They, they play the small ball.
They have energy.
They have a mixture of veterans and youthful guys, and they have really great pitching every single year.
I know this as a Cardinals fan, being so aggravated by watching the Brewers just be successful year over year over year.
They just, like, materialize pitching out of nowhere.
I mean, they make a trade with the Red Sox for their scraps, and they turn them into an ace.
Like, that's who the Brewers are.
Quin Priester, you know, last year as well, who hasn't even pitched this season.
So yeah, the Brewers just have a, a very high floor.
Will they ever have that high upside ceiling to actually win a World Series?
I don't know.
But absolutely they are one of the teams that's just always gonna win in baseball.
