Cubs Prospect Josiah Hartshorn A Big Riser in Baseball America’s Update
The 19-year-old switch-hitter is demolishing High-A pitching, posting elite power metrics and skyrocketing into the top 30 after dominant stretches in South Bend and the Futures Game.

And welcome back to Cubs Roundtable.
I'm Joey Polizzi, talking about all things Cubs.
And there has been no prospect in baseball who has risen up prospect rankings as high as Josiah Harenthorn this season.
Josiah Harenthorn, we heard on MLB Pipeline's update that he went from number n- nine overall to number 80 overall.
That 19-spot jump was one of the biggest in MLB's mid-season prospect update.
But on Baseball America, Josiah Harenthorn rises up to the number 29 spot.
Number 29, that is the top spot for the Cubs, and that means that on Baseball America, Josiah Harenthorn is the Cubs' top prospect, and there's no arguing with it at all.
Josiah Harenthorn has been phenomenal in his first professional season.
Started the season down in Single A with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, posted strong all-around numbers there, and then at less than two months later was promoted to High A with the South Bend Cubs.
And usually, 19-year-olds usually need an adjustment period to go from Single A to High A, or just adjustment period for any different levels across the minors.
For Harenthorn, though, he has needed no adjustment period as he has been tearing the cover off the ball down with the South Bend Cubs.
He has a hit in 22 of 23 games at High A to begin his High A career, and just all around great numbers.
Nine home runs, slugging looking great, his metrics look great as well.
Like, Harenthorn is really evolving as an all-around hitter, and that is why Baseball America has him as a top 30 prospect in all of baseball.
He is also going to be in the MLB Futures All-Star game next week that will be featured, featuring the top prospects in all of baseball, and of course, J- Josiah Harenthorn is one of those top prospects.
