MLB Pipeline Updates Cubs Prospect List: Biggest Risers and Fallers
Draft picks and trade deadline shuffles overhaul the North Side's farm system as Josiah Hartshorn cements his dominance and fresh arms challenge the organizational rankings.

What is up, Cubs fans?
And welcome back to Cubs Roundtable.
I'm Joey Polizzi, talking about all things Cubs, and MLB Pipeline has updated the Cubs top 10 prospect list.
This update comes on the heels of the trade deadline, and with the 2026 draftees now included in the Cubs prospect list, and there's a lot of new movement on this list.
Obviously, Jefferson Rojas gone at the trade deadline.
So the new top 10 looks a little different.
Number one, still Josiah Harnedorn.
He has been phenomenal in his professional, first professional season.
Unreal.
At single A and a high A, he's posted really good numbers at both levels, and he just continues to hit the ball well with the South Bend Cubs.
He's much deserving of being the Cubs prospect, and is the only Cubs prospect to be ranked inside the top 100 for the Cubs.
So Harnedorn, the only Cubs prospect as a top 100 prospect.
Newcomers include Kate Townsend, Caden Surell, and Miles Bailey, the top three picks the Cubs drafted in the 2026 MLB Draft.
All are included in the new Cubs top 10 list.
Townsend comes in at number four, Caden Surell number seven, and Miles Bailey number eight.
Townsend was the Cubs first round pick.
Really good numbers at Mississippi last year.
He is now the Cubs top pitching prospect.
Caden Surell recently made his professional debut with the single A Myrtle Beach Pelicans, is two for seven in his first couple of games with a stolen base and one strikeout, and Miles Bailey is still working his way back from an ankle injury.
So he's probably not gonna play at all this year, but those are the three newcomers for the Cubs inside the top 10.
And the biggest faller, someone who continues to fall down prospect rankings is Jackson Wiggins.
Wiggins entered the season Cubs number two prospect and a top 70 prospect in all of baseball, but now Wiggins has fallen to the number six spot for the Cubs and is no longer the top pitching prospect in the organization.
Obviously, he's had some struggles as of late on the mound at triple A.
Not looking good for him, and it might be time for the Cubs to discuss maybe moving him to the bullpen to see if his stuff plays better there.
