Cubs Trade Jameson Taillon To The Blue Jays
Seeking a rotation reset following a rocky stretch in Chicago, the veteran right-hander heads to Toronto.

What is up Cubs fans and welcome back to Cubs Roundtable.
I'm Joey Polizzi talking about all things Cubs.
And the Cubs have found a trade partner for Jamison Tayon after designating him for assignment on July 27th earlier this week.
The Cubs have now traded Tayon to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Cubs are giving the Blue Jays Tayon and cash, and in return, the Cubs are receiving a player to be named later or cash consideration.
So Tayon now goes to Toronto, of course, born in Canada.
So Tayon goes back to his homeland in Canada, and now he'll, he'll look for a fresh start here in Toronto, and he could be a fit in the Blue Jays rotation as Kevin Gosman is expected to be traded at this year's trade deadline.
If he is moved in the next 36 to 48 hours, Tayon could just slot right into Gosman's spot in the rotation.
That could be a seamless transition for the Blue Jays, who are outside of the playoff picture right now, but only three and a half games from a wild card spot.
And interestingly enough, the Cubs do play the Blue Jays here at Wrigley Field on Thursday.
Could the Blue Jays go out and let Tayon start that game against the Cubs?
Remains to be seen, but Tayon goes to the Blue Jays where, where the Blue Jays are hoping that he can return to his 2024 and 2025 form, as Tayon was a great backend starter for the Cubs in each of those two years.
But this year, not great numbers as Tayon was not sharp in his two starts since returning from the injured list, allowing four runs against the Tigers and seven runs in his most recent outing against the Pirates.
But Tayon is a veteran who has pitched well in the past, and the Blue Jays are hoping that that version of him can show up here down the stretch.
Obviously, Tayon in the midst of a career worst year, but it's great that the Cubs did get something, at least something, in return for Tayon.
