The Lions are built to win now — but even contenders have cracks. One injury at tackle, one missing pass rusher, or thin depth at safety could shift the NFC race. If Detroit wants to finish the job in 2026, these needs can't be ignored.

Today, we will be ranking the top three positional needs for the Detroit Lions.

We're in an interesting situation right here.

I mean, obviously, I think number one, we all know it, it's offensive lineman.

Taylor Decker could be retiring.

we need a new center.

Graham Glasgow was not the answer last year.

we, we could use some, you know, depth help, as our depth was just struggling last year.

But regardless, I think we all can agree that offensive tackle, offensive lineman, is the number one position target that we need to go after.

Number two, I think we still are in agreement.

I think most people would say that it is, defensive, an edge rusher, defensive lineman.

we need a pass rusher opposite of Aidan Hutchinson.

It would be great if we could get, you know, another young stud through the draft, and not a, you know, veteran that's, you know, just a two-year Band-Aid.

But if we do wanna, you know, go after a big home run hitter, like Trey Hendrickson, maybe make a big trade for Max Crosby, would not be opposed to that either.

But I do think there are some studs in the draft.

You know, you got guys like Zion Young, you got guys like Derek Moore, Jay Sean Barnham.

Yes, I named two Michigan players, because I'm a Michigan fan.

But regardless, I think they can both be solid players.

Kedrick Faulk, another solid edge rusher that would be, you know, a nice addition for the Lions.

Now, the third spot, third position that we need to address, it's kind of up in the air.

You know, some people are talking about, do we need, another defensive tackle?

Do we need another linebacker?

Do we need another safety?

Do we need another cornerback?

I think they're all decent answers, but I'm going safety.

With the injury concerns of Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph, you just don't really know what's gonna happen.

Those are our two starting safeties next year, so if both aren't ready, we are going to need some depth.

We had Avonte Maddox come in last season.

He played pretty good, but he's a free agent as well, so it'll be interesting to see what the Lions do, where they pick in the draft, who they sign in free agency, but it's all ramping up, all gonna be coming here soon.

So, make sure you, you know, you, you stay in touch.
