Interestingly, safety Kirby Joseph earlier this weekend, maybe made a mistake going on social media to dispel an internet doctors.
Indication that maybe he could be placed on the pup list, indicating and posting to his followers, how much do you wanna bet, I'm not on that pup list?
Well, the list came out, and Kirby Joseph's name is on it, along with Brian Branch and free agent tight end Tyler Conklin.
So, you look at the situation, and let's remember, at any time a player that's placed on the pup list can be taken off.
Could it be precautionary before the line?

But interestingly, I think many fans were let down just a little bit, hoping that Kirby Joseph could potentially be available at the start of training camp.
Now, that's still a possibility, but at this point in time, Kirby Joseph is on the physically unable to report list.
Brian Branch clearly expected after an Achilles injury.
The name that was a little bit surprising, free agent tight end Tyler Conklin, who has not participated in spring football, and you realize, OK. Over the course of the last couple of months, he hasn't been available on the football field.
So when training camp officially starts, we will find out officially why Conklin has not been participating in action.
So, the Detroit Lions, they start the 2026 training camp with three players on the pup list.
Most surprising is Kirby Joseph, because we all thought that when he went on social media to share that.
That it meant that he would not start the year.
But hopefully, when Wednesday rolls around and training camp begins, he can be out there, but it's fair for the Lions to take a cautious approach with that player.
I just wished he would have maybe just stayed off of social media, and not maybe given any glimmer of hope for a fan base that does not want to talk about injuries.
But at this point in time, 3 players start on the pup list for the Detroit Lions ahead of 2026 training camp.
