What Does Recent Roster Move Mean For Colt Emerson, Seattle Mariners?
Emerson, who signed an eight-year deal this March, was sent to Triple-A on Thursday afternoon.

If JP Crawford were here, I would feel a lot differently.
But since JP Crawford was hurt, I was under the assumption the Mariners really couldn't send Colt Emerson down.
90 for the season, eight home runs, most of them early.
23 RBIs.
He's got a .246 on-base percentage.
The last 30 games, he's hitting 167 with one home run.
He has struck out 37 times in the last 30 games.
He's got four walks in that time.
He struck out 19 times versus one walk since July 25th.
So Colt Emerson has really, really struggled at the plate.
I am still surprised that the Mariners pulled the trigger on this, given that they are in the playoff race still, in the mix, and, you know, Colt Emerson can do some things that nobody else on their roster or nobody else in the mix can.
So I think this is good for Colt Emerson.
I think he needs some time to step back.
I think he needs some time to play with a little less pressure, with a little less self-pressure
