Also, the Dodgers, just a short time ago, announced that, Edwin Diaz is going back on the injured list.
Of course, Diaz hasn't been able- to get anybody out, Joe, since he's come off the injured list, and that's another injury that, you know, on a normal team, you'd say devastating.
Yes.
But the Dodgers are just like, you On the Another, another team, the Dodgers are just like, "Ah, you know, we just burned 100 million.
It's okay.
We'll find somebody else."
I mean, the Dodgers have I know they're 5 and 10 or 5 and 11, whatever, 6 and 10, whatever, in their last 16 games, but the truth is, Tanner Scott is there.
They have other relievers.
They'll figure it out and get by.
Definitely have to ask yourself the question, will Edwin Diaz pitch for the Dodgers again this season?
I don't know that answer.
I, I don't think he will.
Not with what they still They have Glasnow is on his way back, too, I believe, right, Craig?
And we know how in the postseason, now I mean, they got now, you know, Skubal in that rotation there.
Although, Wrblewski just hit the IL, right?
Some injury concern there.
Yep.
But they did get Snell back.
Glasnow's coming back, and Ohtani is throwing in the bullpen.
So they will likely, if they have to go with, 10 starters in the bullpen, they'll go with 10 starters- Will Ohtani- in the bullpen, Craig.
I mean, right?
I, I, I think O- O- Oht- Ohtani controls so much of everything that he does.
It seems like a, a deep long shot.
But would Ohtani- come in the ninth inning, Joe?
Would Ohtani close games for the Dodgers in the play?
Would that be crazy?
I- Would, would, would Is that I mean, I feel like no.
I feel like he's gonna start, and that's what he wants to do.
But wow, can you imagine if they converted him to the closer?
I think a lot of that- That would stretch a different player is gonna depend, Craig, o- on how that knee feels.
If the knee is a problem- Yeah and he's good, you know, because the last thing you wanna is jeopardize him.
And don't forget, he didn't exactly He had long stretches that when he pitched, he wasn't great at the plate, so you know, then they give him that day off.
You notice that after he started pitching for a little while.
Yeah.
And we haven't do.
So it, it depends on how that knee is.
I think if he is asked to come in and get three outs in the ninth inning in game six, y- yeah, he would absolutely come in, in that situation there.
But they are gonna have to be careful, with what's going on, 'cause you can't lose his bat, and I think that's the thing, that they need to be worried about the most here.
