I don't think the Cowboys have the best roster defensively.
I, I don't think anyone does.
But this seems to be a better marriage between personnel and scheme than what we've seen in previous years, and it only makes sense.
If you look at the talent base that Mike Zimmer worked with after Dan Quinn left to be the Commanders' head coach, he was working with Dan Quinn's defense.
And even Mike Zimmer, late in the season, revealed that he was guilty of not changing a lot of things from Dan Quinn's defense out of fear of his scheme not working with the personnel that was really Dan Quinn's personnel.
That was a problem of going through that change and going to a coach that was naturally different from Dan Quinn.
It didn't have a smooth transition.
So Mike Zimmer was working with a Dan Quinn type of defense a- as far as talent goes, and then you bring in Matt Eberflus, and really it's kind of the same, only you don't have Michael Parsons this time to make up for any of the shortcomings that he had on your roster
