Eric Lauer is a warrior for what he did for the Dodgers tonight, 112 pitches across six and a third innings, the most by any Dodger starter this season, and he was only three pitches away from his career high of 115, which he actually threw against LA back in 2018.
A big series starts against the Brewers tomorrow, and Lauer made sure that the team could refresh their bullpen for it.
The Dodgers are tied with the Braves in the National League standings right now, and they're only one win away from the top seeded Brewers.
Lauer expressed to Andrew Friedman and the front office that he did not wanna be traded even though other teams wanted him.
He needed a bounce back start tonight and he delivered.
Remember, when Eric Lauer was cut by the Blue Jays earlier this season, he was on his sixth team in just eight years, and he was a league average pitcher.
He came to the Dodgers at the most critical point in his career, and they have unlocked him once again.
It takes an entire tribe to strive towards something as special as the three-peat, and for every generational talent like Shohei Ohtani, you need Eric Lauers, guys that will do whatever they're asked and shock the world in the process.
And now the Dodgers move forward.
Roki Sasaki on the mound tomorrow.
I'm excited for Saturday, Robo versus Miz.
That's gonna be a tough one, but a good one.
