Video Transcript

Yeah, tough one tonight.

you know, started out, you know, those three hits sort of, you know, kind of right out of the chute.

And, and, you know, things looked, outstanding, from an offensive standpoint there.

the ball that Randy hit, I thought, you know, it looked like it, from where we were, it looked like it hit the pole, but it looked like, you know, upon replay it was, it was a little bit different.

So, you know, tough, tough turn of events there.

you know, and, and, on- you only get the one run there.

But, you know, Ashcraft we knew was tough and, and, wanted to get to him early.

We were able to do that, just, you know, get the one run and then, you know, just they were able to get to Bryant.

And, and, that fourth inning just, you know, just kind of got away from quickly and, and, you know, they were able to score pretty quickly.

And, and, you know, from there they were able to, to put, to put it away a little bit.

It's a good game to, you know, put behind us and, and come back tomorrow.

Quick turnaround and, come back tomorrow and, and win the series and, and, head on down to Cleveland and, and, start that one, too.

Stan, Ryan's rose, home rose splits are, are drastic.

Can you put a finger on why he struggles so much on the road?

No, I mean, you know, and as we've talked about before, it's just, it's, you know, it kind of comes down to, to, to one inning there.

And, usually something that, that kind of goes, you know, his, not his way.

And, it's, it's tough.

but, you know, I, I know he's frustrated by it and, and, as are we.

And, and, you know, he's, he's making his adjustments and, and, you know, I know Ryan is, you know, the guy that's gonna, he's gonna figure it out.

And, and, you know, just another tough one tonight and, you know, we'll be back.

It seemed like it started to kind of reel out of control when they, O'Hern hit that soft liner that kind of bounced.

Randy kind of made a, kind of ran at it.

I mean, what was your vantage point on that play?

Is it the hamstring or do you think he's gotta make that catch?

Yeah, no, I mean, it's, you know, he's, he's coming back from that hamstring.

It's a long way to go.

And, and, you know, they were able to just kind of put it right in the right spot there and, and, you know, just not able to get to it.

And, and, it's a tough, you know, it's a tough play and, and it's, you know, it's, it's a, it was a long way to go.

And, and coming off that hamstring, he's gotta be careful and, and, they just were able to drop it in there.

You had several balls hit real hard today that didn't find holes.

Are you encouraged by the offensive approach again tonight?

Yeah, I mean, you know, that's, you know, I feel like even last night we hit some balls hard that, that, you know, we weren't able to, you know, get hits on or get base runners from.

And, you know, tonight same thing, you know, some more ball, hard hit balls.

you know, and, and Ashcraft, you know, he makes you earn it.

And, and, you know, I feel like some guys found barrels, but, but nothing to show for it.

but, you know, l- like I said, we, we gotta put this one behind us and, and move on and get ready for tomorrow.

We saw Josh doing some early work today, and it translated to two hits offensively.

Nice to see that kind of pay off for him.

Yeah, I mean, these guys all work hard and, and, you know, Josh is a guy that, you know, he, he takes a lot of early work.

And, and, you know, these guys are always out there trying to, get better in some way.

And, and, but yeah, I mean, I thought he swung the bat well.

He's been swinging the bat well.

And, and, you know, again, we'll just, be, be ready to attack again tomorrow.

Yeah, when, when, when an inning's reeling out of control and, and pitchers feel sped up.

I know Calvin out there once.

You had Piko out there.

I mean, what can you do to try and help reel it back in when things seem to be spinning out of control?

Yeah, I mean, you know, you, you, you know, you, you try to change up the momentum.

You try to change up the, you know, just put a pause button on it and, and, slow things down a little bit.

And, and, you hope that that gets you, gets you a ground ball or, or a double play or something to get you out of the inning.

And, and, you know, but we just weren't able to get that today.

And, again, you know, they were able to put up that, that five spot there and, and, you know, it's a, that's all Ashcraft needed.
