Former Canucks Defenceman Stecher Says ‘There’ll Always Be Interest’ In Re-Joining Vancouver
Stecher signed his first NHL contract with the Canucks and played for his hometown team for four seasons.

Mike, just wanna get your thoughts.
What do you think of the hire, and do you think that Malhotra's gonna be a good fit?
I mean, first, this was the worst-kept secret in the world that, Malhotra was gonna be the hire.
you know, he was held up for a few days 'cause they, you know, the reports were that they were, there was a difference on money.
But in the end, I think that, you know, Johnson and Malhotra, who won a Calder Cup with Abbotsford, you know, that was the combo that was gonna end up being the case.
And I think it's a good hire 'cause he's a young coach, he's a progressive coach.
this is a rebuilding team.
It's gonna take them three or four years probably to get back to where they're a playoff contender.
So I think, you know, he was a good choich- good choice, and more than likely, you know, based on some of the draft projections, they will be drafting his son Caleb third overall, and that will be a nice little combo there, for PR in, Vancouver to, to sell to the fans.
