Saw another pitcher change locations, and that was Freddy Peralta.
We saw his first start, in Colorado.
I don't know if that's a great indicator as to what's to come, but not all that surprising, Tom.
I mean, Peralta- just simply put, was not good all season.
He hasn't been good.
He's has very few quality starts, so he goes to Colorado and he gets roughed up as well.
The thing with Peralta for me is I think his value to the Rays is going to be three, four weeks away.
Because you- Certainly, there are a lot of underlying numbers that the Rays are gonna be able to mess with and tinker with to make him better, but you gotta get the player in your system, and you gotta get him at your park.
And I think the best of Peralta we'll see in a few weeks when they, you know, identify some things that obviously the Mets, have not.
He's a better pitcher than he's shown.
But I think I would temper the results, at least initially, until they say, "Okay," like, "throw this more, throw that more."
Li- And the Rays- are really, really good at that.
Mm-hmm.
But you can't expect the results to be immediate, and I think that's what we saw with Peralta and Coors.
Right.
He's been bad this year.
Also, the, a rough landing spot for a team debut at Coors.
But I was watching that start.
I was watching the Rockies broadcast, and they were actually talking about the Rays', pitch usage about just a, a team level, how they throw more change-ups compared to the next two or three teams.
And to your point is like, once the Rays get him there and they start working with the pitching coaches in between starts, and they start tweaking X amount that he's gonna be throwing this pitch or Y amount for another pitch, that's where I think the Rays magic will come into play.
And it's, it's not now.
It's, you know, can they kind of, you know, evolve his whatever, pitch mix, timing.
They also talked about that Peralta, the Mets wanted him to throw out of the, out of the stretch more versus the wind-up or vice versa.
Once they figure all that out, in a month, that's when we'll start to see results.

Har- hard right now to envision anything except for give you five, six innings of probably what he did in New York.
