If you weren't watching Giants Pregame Live, here's a good reason to.
We talked about both Casey Schmitt and Jung Hoo Lee over their last 14 games.
That was leading into today.
Over their last 15 games is what you're getting a look at now, and both of these players have really seen a lot of success at the plate, and that's Casey's kind of been the, the one that's held down the Giants lineup all season.
Jung Hoo Lee, over these past two weeks, really settling in, and he talked about it, giving yourself some self-confidence after you get a few hits.
Isn't it nice when the people that you talk about in pregame go and do exactly- Yes what you were praising them for doing in the game?
Great, actually.
That actually works out wonderful.
But look, again, it's, it's Jung Hoo right now.
Look at the bat control right there.
He, he located where the pitch was gonna be, and then he went and hit it the other way.
Turned on a fastball in right there.
He had a great day, obviously, going four for five.
He's seeing it in his mind like it's coming in like a beach ball right now, which is great.
And when these runs happen throughout the course of a season as a hitter, you gotta take advantage of it and you gotta just ride that momentum because obviously you know what it's like on the other side of it.
And Casey Schmitt, who we spoke to just yesterday, even told us, he goes, "I've just been trying to work on my approach, work on my discipline," and it's absolutely showing.
He's taking pitches that he's supposed to drive, and he's absolutely driving them.
Yeah.
Jung Hoo Lee, this is his third career four-hit game.
As you mentioned, he went four for five today in that leadoff position for the Giants.
Willy Adames got the day off.
And you could see Adames in the dugout, too.
I mean, there's no lack of energy when you're talking about Willy Adames.
But this could be just a perfect scenario, where we saw Elliot Ramos a few weeks ago get a couple days off out of the starting lineup, and he was able to turn things around.
Adames, obviously a veteran, he's been down this road before.
He knows how to ride the rollercoaster.
But Casey and Jung Hoo, if they can continue this, and then you start getting Rafael Devers, who we saw, today get a hit or two, and then you get Willy Adames into the mix, this team can really power through some offense.
They just haven't been there quite yet.
Well, first of all, Willy is ultimate vibes guy.
He's al- he's always gonna be just super high energy.
He's always got a smile on his face.
I saw him yesterday just ear to ear, cheesin'.
but to your point, yeah, I mean, look, in spring training when we were chatting, we were wondering kinda what the pitching staff was gonna look like, what the bullpen was gonna look like, and everything is starting to settle in very nicely.
On the pitching front, the bullpen's been lights out, which I love to say, when a Giants bullpen is doing well.
The offense has just been a little bit kinda helter-skelter.
The, with, with Rafael Devers, who had a really nice RBI double to left center field today, but Willy Adames getting himself going.
Obviously nobody expected him to start off this slow, but he'll rectify the ship.
But when you have one through nine going in the way that the, that we all expect that they can, this is an offense that can definitely go out there and score some runs in the five, six, seven runs a game, and they can leave the ballpark almost at any time from a lot of different places in the lineup, which we've yet to see them do consistently.
So when they do that, I think this team's gonna be even more fun to watch.
Yeah, Rafael Devers today hitting for the Giants in the five hole.
He went one for three, had the RBI, and scored a run.
He also had a walk in today's game.

I'll give you one guess what it was.
With two on, Casey Schmitt steps up to the plate.
He wastes no time.
First pitch slider, he sends that ball 406 feet on a little trip to left center field to give the Giants a three-run lead at the time.
And again, when you get the momentum ahead of him, he had two on, you're able to do some damage when Casey Schmitt's hitting home runs like he is.
Casey's one of those guys where he just kinda can't help himself.
When guys are on base and he has the ability to drive somebody in, he's up there going He's l- he's going up there looking to swing.
He wants to bring them in.
and he obviously got that first pitch breaking ball that, that Nardi thought he was gonna be able to flip in there, steal a strike, and Casey noticed it right out of his hand, waited back on it, and obviously hit it incredibly hard and did what he was supposed to.
But it was a good job of him recognizing right out of his hand that it came out up so he could stay back and keep his momentum so he could still get all that juice into it.
Yeah, four home runs now on the season for Casey Schmitt.
Team leader.
That actually leads the Giants, because they are tied with the Boston Red Sox, or they were heading into today's game, for the fewest home runs in the majors.
We'll have to check those updated stats.
Maybe they're 29th now.
But they're looking to climb up that home run board.
Inching.
they, they sure are.
I th- I think Drew Gilbert also somebody that we talked about in the pregame show, with what he's been able to bring both at the plate defensively, but also with his vibes that he brings to the clubhouse and, and to the dugout.
I think this team is, is settling in nicely with the pieces that they've been given.
I agree.
I agree completely.
And just, just to, you know, finish up the thought on Drew Gilbert, I mean, he did a really nice job hitting today.
Laced a couple singles.
When he gets pitches that he can handle, that's what you wanna see from this offense.
When you're getting the pitches that you're supposed to hit, when they're capitalizing on it, that's when you see good things start to happen for the offense, like scoring six runs.
When the offense is kind of n- scuffling a little bit, when things aren't rolling well, those pitches that And as a, from a pitcher's perspective, you love it when that happens 'cause you kinda get away with some mistakes.
But when you leave a pitch a little bit too far over the middle, a good offense or an offense that is firing on all cylinders, those are the hits that, that they're hitting and the batters are taking advantage of.
So it's really nice to see that, that they're all, especially from the bottom half of the lineup, that, that you're getting that production from it.
Right.
Jung Hoo Lee at the top obviously getting his four hits, but then you had really competitive at bats from the bottom half of the lineup as well.
Yeah, Drew Gilbert hitting in the seven hole.
He had that RBI single that tied the game for the Giants in the bottom of the sixth, so a huge swing of the bat for him, that tied the game.
