Holy Schmitt.
Doubled to right in the first inning, jacked a home run to left center in the bottom of the third, walked in the fifth, and then ended up scoring on the grand slam.
There are few bats that are hotter, not just for this team, but in the National League, than Casey Schmitt right now, Serge.
There really isn't, and as he said himself, he's just not trying to do too much.
He's in there and he's trusting the process.
He's trusting the game plan.
He's trusting his abilities, his hands, and his hand-eye coordination's been elite this year.
His swing and miss, his, rate is very, is much lower than it was a season before.
And he's coming in with a massive amount of confidence, and it shows in his at bats.
'Cause as Kruk and Kuip were saying, he's a big leaguer now.
He's playing all kinds of different positions and he's still finding a way to be consistent in the box.
And because of that consistency, they're, they are testing his physical- Yeah abilities to play different positions because of how impactful his bat has been.
True leader right, so far up to this season.
He's been- Mm-hmm the, one of the brightest spots on this offense the whole season, along him and Arraez, and then now you got Devers and Adames.
Even Chapman's starting to swing the bat a little bit better.
It's been really fun to watch him play and really grow into this Major League Baseball player that he is.
Yeah, Schmitt in his fourth season in the bigs has talked about how everything has kinda come together for him.
He's also told us in interviews on this show that he's more healthy this year than he felt like he was last year, which has led to some of the production.
In terms of the home runs, 11 on the season in 45 games played.
To put it in perspective, 12 home runs for him last year in 95 games, so a massive breakout year for Casey Schmitt, which has been a huge positive and really a revelation for this Giants ball club.
