Gibbs' fantasy ceiling is 'out of this world'
After becoming the highest-paid running back in NFL history, Jahmyr Gibbs remains Kyle Dvorchak's RB1 in fantasy football for 2026, with the Lions star boasting an "out of this world" ceiling.

The Lions and Jahmyr Gibbs agreed to a three-year, up to $75.5 million contract extension.
The deal has a base value of 67 and a half million, features 51 and a half million guaranteed.
By any of those numbers, the up to number, the base value, or the guarantees, Gibbs is now narrowly the RB1 by contract value, no matter how you're measuring it.
He narrowly edges out Bijan Robinson, who just signed almost the exact same contract extension.
I will note, Jonathan Taylor also signed a shorter, not quite as valuable contract extension, but none of these running back extensions were surprising in the least bit.
These are three of the most talented running backs in the NFL.
When you look specifically at Gibbs and Bijan, these are relatively young running backs given sort of the timescale we have for running backs these days.
To me, I had Gibbs as the RB1 pretty much all summer, and this obviously does not change anything.
I wouldn't say it even solidifies my case, because both him and Bijan Robinson got massive contracts.
I will note that in three games without David Montgomery in 2024, Gibbs averaged 33 PPR points per game.
Obviously, they have since traded David Montgomery this off-season.
He has only been replaced by Isiah Pacheco, who's making barely over the veteran minimum.
I don't think he's a big impediment to the Jahmyr Gibbs role that should expand in 2026.
Like I said, the numbers in 2024, small sample, were incredible without David Montgomery.
I don't think he averages 33 PPR points per game for a full season, but the ceiling is out of this world.
For that reason, he is still my RB1 overall.
