Speaking for the first time since parting ways with Vegas at the end of their season.
And he, he's basically just being asked, "Do you still wanna coach?
What's your plan?"
He said, "Oh, I want to coach," which of course, it's Tortorella.
He said, "I want to coach now.
I'm not sure if that happens, and that's where I am in my career."
He is in that point of, you know, is he gonna get another random text message from a GM saying, "Hey, come in.
There's eight days left in the season and we need you."
What's gonna happen with Tortorella as we look forward to this season?
So kick us off, Ajello.
Talk a little bit about if you think that Tortorella will have another chance at coaching as a head guy in the NHL.
In a league where Mike Babcock, Babcock got another chance to coach- Yeah John Tortorella would be the warm and fuzzy- version.
Now I d- I don't think he'll get a job in Canada, 'cause we know how that turned out in Vancouver.
I think the, I, I, hey, I do think he's gonna coach again, 'cause I think there's, there's gonna be somebody who will be desperate enough to bring him in as a good relief pitcher out of the bullpen.
But, but it has to be a particular situation.
And I h- I think it also has to be, like, a team that has US Olympic players on it because, you know, he was an assistant coach- Yeah with the US, with Team USA, and they know him.
So I think, you know, if those are star players on that roster, then they're probably gonna say, "Yeah, we can accept him for a, a short term."
