Right now, nfl.com/predictions, everyone got together and voted, and here's who the NFL Media crew has winning these divisions.
Full disclosure, I didn't have my new email activated yet, so Gregg Rosenthal, I did not vote.
All right?
But you did.
AFC West, who'd you vote for?
I didn't wanna just answer like everyone else and go Broncos.
I went the Kansas City Chiefs.
When you have a chance, Andrew, to take the greatest quarterback I've ever seen enter the league in a season where they're, quote, quote, underdogs, and a season where their offensive line in four of the five spots could be as good as any offensive line in the entire league, I'm gonna take that chance.
And the Broncos fans can't even get that mad at me because look, the rest of the writers picked them to win the division and not Patrick Mahomes.
Do you think, real quick, that's a bold prediction to- No to say that Patrick- It's- Mahomes is gonna win a division?
No, it's really not.
And I had a hard time this year 'cause I was so chalk, of like, what is vaguely interesting?
And I feel like the Chiefs are getting a little slept on 'cause I think their rookie class, which they haven't had good ones lately, is gonna- are gonna be really good.
All right.
So we get the Chiefs winning the West.
Two years ago, the West had three teams make the playoffs.
Do they do that this year?
I do have all three teams, not counting the Raiders, of course, I m- I mean, we're just really not- But they're still in the AFC West.
They are still in the- Okay AFC West.
I think it might be tough for them to win more than five or six games because of the o- out of division schedule, which hurts all three of them, especially Denver.
I was afraid of the wrath of the Broncos fans, so I put them in.
And ultimately, when you look at their offensive line and defensive line continuity, it's probably the best in the entire NFL.
So everything might not go well for them this season living up to expectations, but I think they get there in the end.
The Chargers were the toughest one for me, but they are a defense, I think, even without Jesse Minter, that are greater than the sum of their parts.
Really great team defense, and McDaniel gives that offense a boost.
So it was 2024 when the AFC West put three teams in the postseason.
The NFC North also did it that year.
Just for the record so people know, the Lions were last in the NFC North last year, but they had a winning record, so don't be surprised- if the NFC North also puts three in.
Gregg, how about the NFC East?
Who did you vote for to win that one?
I went Eagles and was surprised to see that more writers went Cowboys.
It feels like the Cowboys have had a great off-season.
I agree, put 'em in the playoffs.
The Eagles, just lining up their roster, if you're drafting rosters, they have to be one of the best four or five teams in the league.
Up to eight, 10 players that you could see contending for an All-Pro selection, including some rising players, like Jalen Hunt.
And I think it's a young team, so I think they're improving.
If your biggest weakness is Jalen Hurts, who's made a couple Super Bowls and won one of 'em and looked great in both of them, I don't think that's that big of a weakness.
Two Jalen Hurts headlines today.
Number one, Howie Roseman said on the rodeo, radio or the rodeo, either way, I've heard it both ways, in Philadelphia that this isn't a make or break season for Jalen.
And he also told GQ Magazine that, yeah, obviously there was something going on last year between he and A.J.
Brown.
NFC West, Rams, Seahawks, Seahawks, Rams, the two best teams in the NFL.
Who wins that division?
I went with the Rams.
It feels so disrespectful that not a single NFL.com writer went with the Seahawks.
If, if they want bulletin board material, put it up.
But this is a Rams defense now that can win games for them.
They were one of the most efficient rushing offenses in the entire NFL next year.
And I bring that up to say that they can win any type of game.
Of course, they won't be the same if Matthew Stafford gets hurt.
That's true of any starting quarterback.
But to me, it's hard to imagine them losing more than four to five games maximum.
And ultimately, I think they do have the edge over the Seahawks.
