Guardians’ Nathaniel Lowe off to Historically Strong Start After Trade
Nathaniel Lowe is off to a historically good start with the Cleveland Guardians.

The Cleveland Guardians knew that they had to improve their lineup heading into the trade deadline, and they seemingly did just that when they acquired Nathaniel Lowe from the Cincinnati Reds just minutes before the deadline actually hit.
And so far, this trade has been nothing but a success for the Guardians, even though the team itself hasn't been succeeding as, as much as the team would've liked to.
And up to this point, Nathaniel Lowe has played eight games with the Guardians and has a .296 batting average, eight for 27, with a .903 OPS.
And two of those hits have been go-ahead home runs, something that the Cleveland has desperately needed, some more pop from the left side of the plate.
Now, I think it's very interesting because Nathaniel Lowe is also off to a historic start with the Guardians as well, as he's just the 15th player in franchise history, and sixth in the wild card era, to log eight or more hits, have four or more extra base hits, and eight or more RBI through their first eight games with the organization.
Some other popular names that you might remember is Chase DeLauder in 2026, Carlos Santana in 2010, and then Juan Gonzalez in 2001, are just a couple other names on that list.
Now, after Lowe blasted a home run against the San Diego Padres on Friday, he talked to media after the game, and he was asked just how he's been able to stay so calm, or has been able to start off his Guardians tenure with so much success.
And he said that at this point in his career, it's just about sticking with his game plan and knowing the type of hitter he is, and hopefully some of that will translate into the game.
Now, I also think it's interesting to consider that throughout Lowe's career, he has an OPS over 1,000 at Progressive Field, so maybe he just does like hitting in this ballpark.
And when he, when he was asked about that, he just kinda laughed and said maybe that's it too.
So, the good thing here is that Nathaniel Lowe has been exactly what the Guardians have needed, and that's some more offense, but the Guardians as a team now need to start stacking those wins and taking advantage of the new power bat they have in their lineup
