$20,000 on the line, and at one minute 'til 8:00 PM local time, Flow Night in America is underway at Lincoln.
Hudson O'Neal takes them off into one and two.
Sheppe in second.
Down the back straightaway, Shannon Babb moves to third.
Spatola gets shuffled back to sixth, Pearson fourth.
The end of lap number one, will it be Hudson O'Neal?
He was out front here two months ago in heat one, and he is out front leading lap number one here tonight at Lincoln Speedway.
Hudson's tap dances around the top side of the speedway, but here comes Brandon Sheppard.
You got a battle for the lead off into turns three and four.
Sheppe with a slider.
Will he lead lap number t- two?
Here comes Babb on the bottom.
Shannon Babb wins that lap.
Holy smokes.
Oh, my.
Shannon Babb out in front, but now here comes Brandon Sheppard back.
Is Sheppe gonna be the third different leader in the first three laps of this race, Ben?
He's gonna be.
He is.
Oh, my.
Hudson O'Neal leads lap one, Shannon Babb leads lap two, Brandon Sheppard leads lap number three.
Shannon Babb rolling the low side, Hudson O'Neal up on the high side.
They stay side by side.
Bobby Pierce there lurking in the shadows.
Well, Brandon Sheppard, you heard him tell Mike Morris earlier how much he loves this racetrack, and it's showing right now.
Three of your top four drivers from right here in the land of Lincoln, but it's all Brandon Sheppard out front.
He's got a whopping two car length lead over Hudson O'Neal.
Yeah, and he's got a straightaway behind the back of the field.
Austin Hall's gonna call it a night.
He'll try to Fairbury tomorrow.
Hudson O'Neal in second, Bobby Pierce in third.
Meanwhile, Shannon Babb right alongside.
Meanwhile, Hudson O'Neal over the cushion.
He gets into the wall.
He'll fall back to fourth.
Babb now trying to get that run going on the inside.
Man, this track is really good early in the going here in this one, Ben.
We've had three different leaders, and Bobby Pierce says, "I would really like to be leader number four in this one."
Jason Sheppard around the top, Babb back to third.
Hudson O'Neal, he got into the concrete right before that Midwest Sheet Metal caution.
He now comes after Shannon Babb for the third spot.
Good racing as we are 11, 11 laps over- Oh, and trouble.
One driver gets into the wall with a flat tire.
Josh Rice in se- Heavy damage yeah, a few guys had nowhere to go.
14 down, 36 to go.
Pierce and Babb behind him.
We're back underway.
Yeah, Pierce has made that bottom work these last couple restarts.
We'll see if he's able to do it again.
He does, and then Babb gonna try to cross him over down the back straightaway, side by side for the second spot.
They limbo through turns three and four.
Pierce gonna fan out on the high side of the track and get the run and reclaim second.
Here comes Devin Moran.
Devin's entered the chat into the top five.
We got comers and goers right now, DJ.
Yeah, we absolutely do.
Devin Moran, just a few years ago, by the way, told us, "I don't really like Lincoln Speedway that well."
Then he came here and won last year.
He won.
Yeah, and now he likes Lincoln again.
Now Shannon Babb right now, Ricky Thornton Jr.
Going for this final Oh, Devin kisses the concrete.
Oh.
Might not like it as much now.
He's able to drive off of it.
Meanwhile, Thornton inches ahead for third.
Out front, it's Sheppard, Pierce, who's gonna be third as we complete lap number 17.
Survey says Ricky Thornton Jr. Up to third.
Yeah, business is about to pick up at the front of the field as you see Pierce continuing to try different lines on Brandon Sheppard, and that might be where he makes his move because those two leaders are about to catch lap traffic, and that might be where the 32 is able to work around the Rocket One.
Sheppard heads the cushion.
Oh, Myles Moose!
Oh!
Myles is off the wall, and he collects Pierce.
Oh, no, as Myles Moose came off the wall, and Pierce gets collected.
Sheppard made contact.
Sheppard was able to keep going, but you gotta wonder what damage- Yeah, how much damage it might've done to the back of that car.
They gotta work by the driver that's led since lap three.
Brandon Sheppard leads them back to the green.
Yeah, Thornton goes way high.
That opens the door for Devin Moran.
Thornton's gonna try to get momentum off into one and two.
Babb into the second spot, Thornton third.
Thornton gets a good run off the cushion.
Devin Moran fourth.
Good stuff for second on back.
Shep gonna try to pull away from them here, but you're looking back at second, third, and fourth now.
Babb gonna go to the high side, try to catch that cushion coming off corner number four.
And we talked about a little earlier, Devin Moran gonna try to drive underneath.
It's a great battle for P3 behind your second place car, RTJ.
21 laps to go as- Bobby Pierce- Bobby Pierce trying to work- full lap through one and two.
My goodness.
Wow.
That's, what?
For 10th, right?
Yeah.
So Pierce trying to come from the tail of the field up inside the top 10, and hey, you catch a caution, you got the choose coming.
You never know what might happen.
Yeah.
We need a good old-fashioned James Essex PSG here because that is some thick lap traffic at the back of the field.
We keep an eye back in the battle for eighth, ninth, 10th, 11th as OB goes around over in turn number two.
That will wipe out the PSG and give us a Midwest Sheet Metal caution.
He brings them back to the restart zone, and they will fire in turns three and four.
Brandon Sheppard back on the loud pedal.
Oh.
Oh!
Man, Shannon Babb plowing the berm down there at three and four.
How'd the nose stay on that thing?
And he may get faster with some body damage.
Thornton to his outside.
Ricky Thornton Jr. Second, Shannon Babb third, Devin Moran fourth, Tyler Erb in fifth.
How about Nick Hoffman in sixth?
Looking good back there.
Pierce stays in seventh.
Now nine to go for Brandon Sheppard.
Yeah, Devin Moran starting to move in on the 20RT to battle with him.
Good battle back there for fourth.
They all need a Midwest Sheet Metal caution as Bobby Pierce will take fourth away from Turbo.
Turbo says, "Not so fast."
Turns back down the hill, can't get there.
Pierce up to fourth, DJ.
Eight laps to go for Brandon Sheppard.
He is gonna catch traffic again, though, if we stay green.
Yeah, Turbo just crossed over the 32 of Pierce.
Pierce gonna try to get back down under him.
They make a little bit of contact.
Oh, and Turbo bounces off the wall down in turns one and two.
There's the battle for second now on the left side- of the screen as Devin Moran will take it away from Ricky Thornton.
And Ricky Thornton Jr., a flat left rear tire on the 20RT.
Oh, man.
Can he hang on?
Yeah, left rear.
As he is slowing down the back straightaway.
He's gonna head to the bottom.
He's gonna try to limp it home in this one.
Can he make it?
Slides up the racetrack- Oh, I don't know right in front of Pierce.
Oh!
Thornton trying to get to the infield.
Is he trying to get to the infield, or is he just trying to get out of the way?
It's gonna draw, either way it'll draw a Midwest Sheet Metal caution with six laps to go.
Flat left rear for Ricky Thornton Jr. Brandon Shepard been your leader since lap three.
What does Pierce have?
Can Devin Moran go back to back?
Green flag is back out.
We got six laps to decide it.
And Pearson inside of Devin Moran.
Shepard drives off the cushion.
Moran holds second, Pearson third, Albertson fourth, Turbo in fifth.
Nick Hoffman battles it inside of Turbo for position five.
Shannon Babb will join that battle.
And Devin Moran with a little bit of a look to the inside of the Rocket One there, not able to do anything.
Moran may be taking the line away from Bobby Pearson the closing stages of this one.
That's gonna open up the door for Garrett Albertson to get a run.
He's gonna try to get a podium finish as Pierce goes back to the top side with four to go.
And I tell you what, Devin Moran may be running aground there on Brandon Shepard.
Eight-tenths of a second with four laps to go at this tight quarter-mile bull ring.
Down the back straightaway, Shepard heard me.
He turned on the afterburners.
He pulls away from Devin Moran.
Now Bobby Pierce goes to the top side.
Moran will slot up in front of him, maybe a slider for second.
Oh, Moran catches a little concrete out of four.
Pierce pulls in, and he leaves a lane out there for Devin Moran.
Good battle for second.
Yeah, Sheppy says, "Have at it, boys," as he pulls away from this battle for second that you're watching, this time by just two laps left to go, and it's a 1.6 second advantage for Brandon Shepard.
Ben, they're gonna come around next time.
Sheppy pulling away from the field.
Allgaier Performance, one to go at Lincoln Speedway.
Allgaier Performance, one to go.
Final time around for Brandon Shepard.
Devin Moran in second.
Pierce, one last chance to try to get to him, but DJ, we've been here five times.
We now, out of turns three and four, will have five different winners.
The winner of the Growl Showdown at Lincoln Speedway, Brandon Shepard.
The crowd comes to their feet for Sheppy.
Second will go to Devin Moran.
Bobby Pierce third.
