Well, you see our formats right here.
We're gonna run two segments.
First two 75 laps, rest of it, the very end is a long segment there, Clint, 200 laps.
Full fields in the first two segments, and then we're gonna cut it down to 26 cars.
And that second segment, desperation's gonna settle in, right?
We've got a lot of cars going for a few positions to race their way in.
You do not wanna be watching this thing at the couch- No at the house.
Well, we've still got the flag in Mike's hand, so that was the main accomplishment, as you see Brad Keselowski on the bottom of Denny Hamlin.
I don't know that I expected that, but as I, as we've seen a lot of times this year, Clint, Denny doesn't necessarily take off as good as some of the other cars.
Yeah, but he's gonna be good.
Now look, right here, these are those guys that are coming from the back.
You have to make some hay right here.
You have to get to the front.
Oh, look out, we got one around Priest.
Larson's into the wall hard.
There's a champion.
I was worried about this.
Custer, Suarez.
And this is exactly what we talked about, starting in the back of this field.
When something happens at this particular racetrack, it happens in a hurry.
He's getting out here, guys.
Trying to get out.
He's kinda There he goes.
See Zilisch coming on the bottom.
They were three wide racing off of turn number four down the front straightaway when things just Well, everybody- Priest comes down.
Yeah, I don't know that Ryan Priest knew that the 30, 34 was still there.
He came down the racetrack.
Boy, Priest hit hard.
Onboard the 17 of Chris Buescher.
See all those cars checking up right there.
Look at it from onboard the five of Kyle Larson.
Got clipped in the right rear and turned him.
See them three wide again, already back in the middle of this pack.
Wreck like that at the beginning of the race sometimes gets, gets the attention of the rest of the field to say, "Okay, we are at Dover.
We probably need to take our time" because those looked like they hurt when those guys wrecked right there.
Those were big hits.
Is, as you see Denny Hamlin looking to the inside of Brad Keselowski, but I think that resin on the bottom of the racetrack has worn off a little bit.
They found that fresh resin all the way up against the wall, so you have a lot of options from the driver's standpoint today.
And what does that tell me?
I was driving this racetrack on Friday, and being in that resin that you speak of, Kevin, see the six car starting to move up, cars probably getting tight.
Talked to Denny Hamlin leaving the drivers' meeting.
I said, "Hey, do us a favor on FOX, don't stink up the show today."
He said, "Hey, at some point I'm gonna have to start in the back, you know."
I go, "Yeah, that'll be fun" .
He laughed.
Well, he makes this, he makes this pass right here, he's gonna stink up the first segment, but Brad Keselowski is not going, going to make this an easy pass.
Alls you have to do is stay right there where he's at and take that exit away from Denny Hamlin.
As long as you're door to door, he can't use the real estate he needs and has to I think, still gonna be there one more lap.
See, he can't clear him up.
Slows him down, have to lift off the gas, and six car comes right back by you.
Well- But I think he's gonna prevail here.
Yeah, yeah, he's gonna prevail.
And, and that's what we expect- All clear.
All clear out of Denny Hamlin, is to, is to lead this race and, and have one of the cars to beat, as, as he has been so many times here at Dover.
But let's not, let's not cut Brad short.
That RFK team has been stellar this year from an improvement standpoint and the, and the, the consistency and the way that they can grind races out and get finishes.
If that outside lane is good, Reddick's gonna wanna be up there.
Yeah.
just like Corey Day was yesterday, and that's what, that's what won Corey that O'Reilly Series race, finding that outside groove, finding somewhere where the cars weren't.
That fresh resin up on top of that racetrack that had all that grip, and he, he made it work for him yesterday to get that win.
Wallace gunning for third against Keselowski, takes it.
Sets off after Byron and Hamlin.
Here is Allmendinger and Van Gisbergen as they battle for 25th.
Yeah, and you see Van Gisbergen way up the racetrack right there.
A- and that's hard at Dover, because it is a lot further around that corner.
It's a long ways from the bottom of that racetrack to the top.
So what you do, from a throttle perspective and the percentage of throttle that you have to run to run around the top of that racetrack, much different than what you will do on the bottom.
And everybody in that group is trying to transfer.
Ryan Blaney's found a great place to watch up there, on the photo stand.
I believe that's between turns one and two.
Yeah, and his car is in the garage.
He was involved on that lap two wreck, and they're actually working to get that car fixed.
So, what do you got over there, Larry?
Yeah, if you go back to Friday, we had an hour and a half practice with two sets of tires, and there were teams that ran a lot of laps.
In fact, Chase Elliott ran 108 laps.
But right now, 45 laps, nobody ran more consecutive laps than that right there, so we're kinda getting in no man's land as far as tire wear.
Christopher Bell outside Kyle Busch.
Oh, up in the wall, that's Hosokawa.
And the caution waves for the second time today, lap 62.
They go and then just hit it really hard.
And you can hear it.
Oh, no, he didn't keep it up.
He hit it pretty hard.
Yeah, you can hear that tire, you can hear the, the tire coming apart and hitting the, the hood and the crush panel and everything.
Can Wallace and Hamlin, without fresh tires, hold this group off- they can for six laps?It's going to be interesting to see if these guys They're pretty far back, so they've got quite a cushion to be able to hold onto this.
Through the AutoPark Automotive restart zone- Green, green, green, green and back to green.
Hamlin takes off.
And you see right now on these restarts, there's just nowhere to go for those guys that are all bottled up with those fresh tires.
You have to go where they are and in the corners.
You see Bubba Wallace challenging Denny Hamlin for the lead.
Side by side, up front, and everybody- They got it scrambling among the cars on new tires.
Look at this.
One minute to go.
William Byron with two.
Riley Herbst is right in it.
Alex Bowman.
Herbst in the 35 and Bowman, 48, side by side.
They are the first two of the drivers who are trying to transfer into the 200-lap finale.
And there they are right there, Herbst and Bowman on the bottom with those tires.
Oh.
And Reddick trying to get under him.
He's gonna do it.
He's gonna get five of them.
You don't hear that every day.
He's gonna get five of them, Mike.
Yeah, Christopher Bell is just- Oh, we got him around.
Herbst is around.
And it's Riley Herbst, and he gets slammed into from both ends.
Bell's into the wall.
Busch is around.
Nemechek, heavy front end damage.
Well, you nailed it, Clint.
I mean, this is, this is what happens when you get guys on old tires, guys on new tires.
You get accidents like that.
All right.
Watch Riley Herbst in the 35 right in the middle.
Product of those old tires.
See Bell in trouble behind him.
Starts to get loose up off the corner.
Bowman's there.
Not enough room, and they're wrecking.
And as Nemechek comes across, who does he catch but Kyle Busch, who had been penalized for speeding, and ends up in this.
That's the way it works.
Yep.
When, when you shoot yourself in the foot, you wind up back here in the hornets' nest, and that's the end of it.
So this will end segment one.
Green flag for 75 laps, segment two.
Boy, you see those leaders right next to each other.
See those hood flaps.
They're so close that it's pushing the hood flaps open on A.J.
Allmendinger's car.

That's because you got loose underneath him off of four.
That could've been big, right in front of the whole field.
You know, Mike, one incentive, even if you're not up in the top six score- Oh.
Oh, trouble.
Trouble.
Brad Keselowski, Ross Chastain, and maybe Bubba Wallace involved.
Yeah.
Hard contact with the inside of that wall right there at the end for Chastain.
Both of those cars in big trouble.
Bubba might've got a piece of this.
Looked like the front splitter has some, damage there.
Yep, you see the damage right there on the bottom.
Oh, man.
Here's Ross Chastain.
Not clear.
Right behind them, Stenhouse and Gibbs side by side with Zilisch looking on.
Uh-oh, too close.
Yeah, they let Reddick on by.
Look at Reddick on the outside of the top.
Here he comes.
It's like a different gear right now with the speed difference between that 45 and these cars that started at the beginning of the pack right here.
Patience.
You got a really good car with that 45.
You got a chance to win a million bucks.
A little patience is gonna go a long ways here.
Yeah, and his car is just able to roll so much more speed up on the top of the racetrack.
And these guys up front just can't quite clear each other to break free.
Best combined finish based on the running position right now.
They lose.
Be careful.
Oh, no.
That's what I'm talking about with Reddick.
Whoa, that was close.
Van Gisbergen around brings out the caution for the second time in this segment.
All right, guys.
We can't see the spot.
Single car.
I don't think anybody got collected or anything there.
In three and four just trying to make something happen.
They make contact down the back straightaway, but you're gonna see A.J.
really squeeze him getting in the corner, and it just gets loose on Shane.
Would be 12th in the finale if he holds onto the lead, but here comes Reddick.
Yeah, and A.J.
did, has done a great job of just keeping Reddick back there longer than, than he probably, most people would have.
But I think Tyler Reddick is gonna drive off into the sunset right now.
And around goes Ty Gibbs, and we're under caution.
Stack locked.
Right front's down.
I don't know.
That may have been why he was as high as he was.
A lot of times if I think I've got a problem, I'm getting closer to that wall, not farther away.

Of your screen.
Here he comes back down the hill.
The car starts to get sideways.
He's loose, folks.
I don't know if that right front was down.
It doesn't look like it's down.
It blows- Blows wide right there.
Chase Briscoe probably gonna get a huge run down this front straightaway.
But even if Reddick takes the lead right here and goes on to win this 75-lapper, Briscoe would still earn the pole position for the finale.
Best combined finish.
He's not gonna be able to hold him off.
Easy pass for Reddick.
And green checker here.
Well, it's a regular checkered flag because NASCAR is officiating each of these three races as separate individual entities rather than having a stage break.
Yeah, you see- Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, two Toyotas on the front row from Joe Gibbs.
I was just gonna say, you see three Toyotas right up there, one, two, three, and, and we feel like Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick are the, are the best two cars that are up in that pack.
Add William Byron to that list.
Been quiet, haven't really seen much of him, but he's gonna be up front amongst them, maybe he can put some pressure on him Connor Zilisch, the first driver to race in and transfer.
Hamlin, Briscoe right even exiting two, and Briscoe gets the drive off the top for the lead.
Or does he?
Oh, he tried to cut down on him.
Probably got loose.
No, he tried to come down.
Denny was there, got into him just a little bit.
Still hanging tough on the outside.
Here he comes back, Briscoe.
Yeah, and the last thing that you wanna do, you know if you let Denny Hamlin get control of this race, every single lap will be harder and harder to beat that 11 car.
Do everything you can to do that.
Reddick worked the top in one and two.
He's on the same line in turn three, trying to pull up for second place here.
Yeah, and when that 19 car pulled down in front of the 11, that made the front end take off, and that allowed Tyler Reddick to at least have a shot to be able to get to the right rear quarter panel, which he could not make happen.
All right.
We've had a lead change, and it happened in traffic.
Chase Briscoe caught the seven of Daniel Suarez and could not get by him.
Kevin.
That created an opportunity.
What do you think?
Well, I'd be, I'd be a little bit frustrated right now with the seven car of Daniel Suarez because, you know, the, these two guys are, are racing for the lead and he, and he almost looked like he was intentionally aero blocking.
And roll a lot faster than him.
There it is again.
You see, he turns back down the hill and makes that weight cross and tough, makes Denny tight up off the corner.
He's- And I think, I think Reddick's car is a little bit loose, and he's having to slow that car down to keep it from sliding the back at the end of the first third of the corner.
And that's where you see Denny able to roll from the end of the first third to the center.
Here he comes.
Here he comes.
Got him.
He's getting him.
Clear, clear.
Use it.
Clear.
Oh, he's in trouble.
Reddick's in trouble.
And Hamlin to the lead.
And Zilisch is looking at his inside.
Yeah, don't forget about that 43 car, guys.
We, we Eric Jones kind of snuck up on us right here.
He's also gonna get to the inside, and I think that that, that saved Tyler Reddick right there.
He was done.
That, that car w- that right front tire was down to the cords and no more turn.
And no, Tommy Zilisch.
Oh, man.
Don't say it.
Too many men over the wall.
Well, we, we say it constantly, Mike.
Don't beat yourself.
They get themselves in a position to, to race for an All-Star win.
Connor Zilisch did a great job in the car.
See Hosar ripping around the top right there, making up a little bit of ground, putting himself Another three wide move by Chase Briscoe.
We know that he needs to go.
We know that his car falls off as we get towards the end of this run.
Now, we were misinformed by NASCAR about the penalty on Connor Zilisch.
The penalty is actually for equipment interference.
The right front tire will roll toward the pit wall, and that would normally not be a penalty except Noah Gregson was pitting, and that tire gets in the way of his crewman.
Watch this right front tire roll up here, and you'll see Noah's crewman go to step up right there.
Almost trips him up.
That's interference.
So Zilisch is now 16th, having got plas- past Bowman and Blaney.
And that's really where we saw the strength of this 88 car earlier in the race, was as he was able to maintain with those guys on the long run, actually be a little bit better than the leaders on, on the long run.
But see Joey Logano drift up in front of that 88, trying to give a little aero block.
But you can see, to your point, Kevin, how much better the 88 rolls the center of the corner than him.
How about the Dillon Brothers going at it there for, eighth place behind Michael McDonald?
Ty had a look, at Austin down on the inside going into the last set of corners.
Here he comes again.
And this is what we talked about, Clint, just somebody willing to get outside of the box just a little bit to try to leapfrog some of those cars that he was racing around.
Always.
Always.
64 laps to go.
Now, if you're the first one to pit, your biggest, your biggest thing that you're hoping for is no cautions and the pit cycle goes all the way through so that you don't wind up two laps down.
Well, you see Stenhouse moving to the pit area, too.
The other thing that's happening is these tires are wearing out again.
Thinking about Reddick, thinking about Briscoe.
They were on the verge of having tire trouble with theirs.
William Byron, third place car on pit road.
Jamie?
William Byron has had a really good day, been quiet.
They hit the ground running in practice and qualifying.
Good speed.
He said on the last run, "We were really good.
I just need more of that chassis adjustment here for the long run."
So they'll make an adjustment and four tires for the 24.
William Byron hoping for a rebound and a Oh, trouble turn two.
Car in the wall.
I think it- Sliding down to the bottom, and it's Joey Logano, and that has- And that's exactly what you don't want if you're all those cars that just pitted.
Riding along with him, Joey Logano getting into turn one.
Yeah, you heard the tire come apart.
It was either It was a rear tire, left rear or right rear.
Well, and that's ex- exactly why you heard Joey Logano acting like Got a tire down.
Hold on.
Stay up.
Group of cars coming here.
Let us know you're okay when you can.
Yeah.
A, a big hit, but that Again, going back to the lead.
The right rear's still up, so I think it was a left rear.
Yeah, there it is.
And then this weekend, it kicked things off in practice.
He fenced it and had right side damage.
The whole team had to get to work and rebuild the whole right side at the end, the last lap of practice.
So, so far so good today-You take it on, but I know he wasn't the best on the long run last run But he's had a flawless day.
One car got into the wall at the exit of turn two.
Reddick.
Drops down to the apron.
It's Tyler Reddick.
I believe he did hit the wall up in two.
It looks like the lettering was still on the tires.
And you heard him talk about that car being tighter than it was the last times, but it looks like they're checking from an engine, from the engine compartment standpoint.
Can't really- Yeah, he slowed dramatically at turn two, went way up the racetrack.
And here is Hamlin to the outside.
Here we go.
Briscoe- No, you're not gonna have any.
Let's go and crosses under.
And you're gonna see Briscoe do everything he can, trying to force Hamlin in, into a mistake.
He knows he has a better race car right now.
Pure defense, Clint, just trying to make it happen, but- Take your time, two away, but I don't think you got anything looks like it's over for Chase Briscoe.
Back on the inside.
Nice crossover move for Briscoe, but Hamlin- Oh could have the launch here, and does.
See the back of that 19 car moving around for Chase Briscoe, and Denny Hamlin goes by to retake the lead.
Yeah, and these guys have done a great job on, on the 43 car, the three car.
Connor Zilisch had a great day, Austin Cindric, William Byron, but none of them have been as good as Denny Hamlin.
