Eight laps we are running in now.
Working number eight as Earnhardt, Elliott trying to slide underneath him and Dale won't buy it.
And if you notice right there, Keith, there was a little bit of paint, a little bit of paint change of hands right there, too.
Elliott now getting a challenge from Tim Richmond, but he closes again right in behind Earnhardt coming down off turn four.
And Earnhardt loses it, goes on the grass, comes back, and Elliott goes inside.
And Earnhardt's still got the lead.
Incredible piece of driving by Earnhardt.
Seven laps to go.
Earnhardt went on the grass down the home straight, and was still able to hold onto his lead.
And now Elliott gives up low and goes high.
And he's loose in the turn and has to drop back.
He got to wiggling around.
Elliott almost went to the wall.
And right now it's Terry Labonte with that big engine bidding for the lead alongside Earnhardt.
Earnhardt trying to hold him off.
Elliott is back in the number four position.
Richmond's running third.
Earnhardt trying to hold off the challenge of Labonte.
And it is Earnhardt, Labonte, Richmond.
One, two, three.
Earnhardt for $200,000.
A little kiss there.
You know, Bill and them got into it there and spun around, and we just missed them.
And then I'll be darned if Bill didn't, try to knock me out twice.
He had me sideways, going off of four, two over there, and then turned me through the tri-oval.
And I, I just lifted him up high just to let him know I was mad.
And, you know, I didn't try to wreck, didn't ru- run him in the wall or nothing.
Then, then he tried to wreck me after the caution there.
I think he's a little upset.
Wow.
Davey Allison shuffled back a bit, but he's gaining.
This is only right, Saturday night racing.
Yeah.
And I'm telling you, it's gonna come down to the last lap.
You stretch this field like a big rubber band, and it's gonna snap back together again, and that's just what it's doing.
White flag, one lap to go.
He's gonna get a shot at him.
Kyle Petty is there.
He is just a car length back of Earnhardt.
Davey Allison coming up, but I don't think he'll be a factor.
Look at this car go.
Kyle just hauls it off the corner.
He's got the inside.
I'll tell you what.
He's up to Earnhardt's bumper.
Earnhardt takes it.
Oh, they're, they're off the, they're off the racing surface, down on the- Uh-oh black part of the racetrack.
Yeah.
Look out!
Oh, oh, look out.
And we're gonna have a winner.
And it's Kyle Petty.
Kyle Petty coming to the checkered flag.
Here comes Davey Allison to the bottom.
It'll be the finish everybody was waiting for, and- Oh, no.
They- They crashed they finished past the finish line.
Uh-oh.
They have crashed into turn number one, and Davey Allison is in a shower of sparks.
He won the race, but he sure paid the price for it.
What a finish, Mike, I'm telling you.
The lead swapped three times on, in the last quarter mile of the racetrack.
Unbelievable.
Kyle Petty coming to the line.
They get together right there.
Ooh.
And it's not over yet.
Oh, he hit hard.
Ooh.
Tearing the driver's side up there pretty good against the door.
Pace car's in.
Fans are on their feet.
Here we go.
For NASCAR's All-Star Race, the 17th annual running of the Winston gets the green flag.
And Steve Park- Boy real loose on the start, almost spun.
Bunch, bunch of guys did.
Geoff Burton got into the back of Tony Stewart and turned him sideways.
Oh, a car sideways.
All, all the cars are loose down in the corner.
The track is wet.
It's Gordon, Gordon.
Michael Waltrip, Kevin Harvick.
The 29 car.
All these cars are wrecking because I believe it might be raining down there.
And the rain is coming even harder.
Look, it's raining.
Oh, for Pete's sake.
What a way to start this event.
For some drivers, what a way to end it.
Unbelievable.
They waved the green flag, the sky opened up.
Harvick, shower of sparks up in turn three.
And now it, it's pretty well pouring here in Concord.
These guys- Look how loose he gets.
See, see Tony Stewart get all sideways there because Burton got into him?
And these guys are all over the place.
They get down here to the corner, and everybody starts up the hill.
I mean, everybody's loose.
There goes Harvick.
Rusty Wallace all but hit the wall.
And centered on Jeff Gordon.
Looked like the back end just come around.
He got into Burton.
Just not enough grip down there.
It looked like the cars- Boy, what a lick right there.
He hit him hard.
Wow.
Yeah, and fortunately, hit him back here in the back.
Yeah.
Didn't get him in the driver's door.
Hey.
Some of the crew members of Joe Nemechek are walking by, and obviously tempers continuing to flare.
I'm tired of, I'm tired of Joe Nemechek, you know, acting like he doesn't do nothing.
And, it may not have been his fault, but after Daytona and I should be fired and all that, he can take that and shove it, shove it where the sun doesn't shine, babyDisappointment for Kevin What are your thoughts?
I'm upset.
You know, if, if guys wanna race like that, and Kevin Harvick wants to be the butthead that he is, and hopeful- hopefully that's a, that's a good word.
That, that's wrong, you know?
we're racing hard.
I had new tires, he didn't put tires on.
So, so what?
But I got hit in the back.
Someone hit me in the side and the back and it started the whole deal.
He didn't really give up anything by being up there.
Looked like he was for a minute, but not at all.
Boy, Kenseth got a good restart.
He's all the way up to 12th after having to restart in the back, but a long way to go.
Boy, Kurt Busch in that two got such a run through the middle of three and four.
He's gonna take second spot away from Burton.
Here comes his brother Kyle to the inside.
And almost wrecked him.
Ah, told you.
Oh.
There he goes.
Oh, dear.
I told you.
I told you.
Oh my gosh.
Checkers or wreckers.
That boy's got a lot of talent.
If only he can harness it on a weekly basis.
How would you like to be the referee in that family?
Boy, great camera work to capture the first contact.
And look how close.
If he just had di- Oh a little bit quicker on the two car of K- Kurt Busch, he would've been out of that.
Let's watch from Kurt Busch's Miller Lite Dodge.
Over.
Trying to make it three wide.
Man.
You will talk to him?
Yeah, I'm sure we'll talk to each other.
it's just tough to have this, this scenario happen out on the track, but inevitably it was gonna happen.
So we'll see what he has to say about it, and we'll see what, see what we can do to discuss it.
But, right now, I'm not, not eating any Kellogg's anytime soon.
Okay, thanks Kurt.
See you next week at the 600.
That's great.
Jeff Gordon goes after him.
Now he's gonna have his hands full with that 24 car coming.
And here comes Stewart.
Tony Stewart wants a piece of this.
Whoa, whoa, the 17 almost lost it getting into the one that time.
And he looks like he's gonna lose some spots because of it.
Looked like that, little shim job wasn't quite enough.
And Ryan Newman, who at one point was nearly two laps down- Uh-oh, look out is up there fighting for the win look out, boys, got a fight for the lead here.
Here comes Gordon on the bottom, the 24 car.
They're side by side.
Eight to go.
Drag race.
24.
He's out there.
Look at the run that 39 car got.
I mean, he ran up on him some hard.
He had to jump out of the gas three wide in two.
Oh boy, here we go.
This is gonna be tight right here.
But they make it, and Stewart closes right up with that pack.
Oh, and a, and a nice little bump draft down the back at Charlotte Motor, or - Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Way to go.
You didn't see that in All-Star race.
Newman all the way up against the wall.
There's still three wide.
He's got him.
He's got him.
Oh.
Oh, they're gonna go.
Here we go.
Keep your foot in it.
Keep your foot in it.
Still going.
Keep your foot in it.
Ah!
Pow.
How'd they go to all missing?
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
c- hey, can we say it?
Tell y'all, give us a chance.
Have you ever?
No, I have never.
Never.
They are using every inch of this racetrack.
Wow.
I want you to take a look at this right here.
This is amazing.
Ryan right here, he's pushing the 18 down the back.
That clears the, that, that clears the 24, but watch what he does when he gets down here.
I mean, look how close.
There's not even room for a shadow on the wall.
And it's like they just all ran together.
Well- They ran into the funnel coming off turn four.
Jeff Gordon's fortunate he didn't get rammed into right there, 'cause there were a lot of cars coming at him.
And I'm not, I don't think a lot of them knew which direction he was gonna end up.
What are we hearing at now the eight?
Now remember, we go back to the last scoring loop that the cars have passed before the instant of caution, and we'll have to check and see if Kyle Busch or Ryan Newman is the leader at that point.
Hamlin is good on the bottom, but that 18 is good on the top and he blocks him.
Oh, he put a block on him.
He put him in the wall.
He put him in the wall.
But he's not gonna quit, but here comes the 48 and the two of Kurt Busch.
Oh, man.
And Logano.
And he thought his brother was rough on him.
And Hamlin almost gets the wall.
Here comes Kurt Busch for the lead.
Seven more, Kurt.
Let's get it, baby.
How about that?
Somebody better keep me away from Denny Hamlin after this race.
I had this race won.
It was won.
I know, bud.
We're saying the same thing, bud.
Whoa, Kurt way up the racetrack.
It's not good.
About to get crammed.
Oh no.
Not good.
Oh, he's coming to pit road.
Whoa.
24, I think he Oh.
Oh, trouble.
Crash.
We're behind him.
Man.
Tony.
Kenseth, Tony Stewart.
Casey.
Casey Kane- Kenseth's all the way back in front of me all torn up.
Guys, I, I think the 24 was thinking to come to pit road right there.
Going on the bottom.
Watch ahead here.
Still rolling along.
Stay watch.
Easy, easy, easy.
I'm almost wondering if Matt d- My goodness.
Either Matt Kenseth snapped loose, or he got a bump from Trevor Bayne.
Or he checked up a little bit because he saw the 24 was pitting.
Here's the reaction as Stewart hopped out.
Yeah, he looks fine.
He got out of the car, no problem.
Definitely has been one of those indescribable nights.
I, I'm as baffled as everybody.
I don't know how in the hell we were scored a lap down after they stopped the 20 car and they pit everybody together.
Lap down and lead lap and lap down.
I It's the most screwed up All-Star race I've ever been a part of.
I'm glad this is the last one.
The good news is you're okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm all right, except I'm just madder than hell, 'cause I don't understand how in the hell they've officiated this whole thing from start to finishThat's the Coca-Cola 600 next Sunday on Fox.
Kyle Busch leads.
Whoa.
Whoa.
That was big.
Got loose off the corner- had to get completely out of the gas.
Oh, he's got a right rear tire, right rear down.
Huge wreck.
No.
It's Austin Cind- or no, as Chastain hit him, turns Chase Elliott around in the wall.
And totals Chase Elliott's car.
Well, you saw it.
He had a big time wiggle off of four.
That thing, it saw him get out of the gas.
The flames came out of both sides.
Car was lucky to not get upside down.
All right.
We're gonna ride with the, Tootsie's cam and Ross Chastain.
Joey Logano making that car as wide as possible, but Bell finds room on the inside.
Yeah, and I think that caught Joey Logano off guard.
He When you get into those positions where you're trying to aero block a little bit.
Look at that car rotate.
It's time to move him up, Kevin.
He's loose.
Now he's- He's into him Can't hold him down.
Yeah, he got- Contact he got loose getting in the corner and slid up into the side of the 22 car.
And that brings Chastain and Alex Bowman into the picture.
There you go.
Front bumper, and i- if they don't work this out, Ross Chastain is gonna be there in a hurry.
20 laps to go for a million bucks.
Yeah, you can't guard on the bottom for long, 'cause Chastain's gonna be on the outside.
Which one do you guard first?
Bell to this outside.
This is exactly what we were talking about.
He's loose though.
Big slide.
They get side by side.
That allows Chastain to close in.
He can't be side by side to him.
I think you gotta Oh, this is exactly what he wants.
Oh, he's there.
Getting that outside.
You see Logano run him up the racetrack.
See him moving down.
Back into him.
See him use the right side of that car.
He's got a half a car length on Joey Logano.
Yeah.
Back even down the, down the back straightaway.
Joey's running him down the racetrack.
He moved him up.
And Chastain almost ran over Logano in the process.
And- How bad do you want it?
He just showed you.
That's exactly what you have to do to ma- finish these passes.
And in his fifth All-Star try, Christopher Bell wins a million dollars.
That's a good race.
That was a great race.
Un- unbelievable All-Star night.
Great job, Christopher Bell
