Ian Poulter: 'Absolutely thrilling' watching son Luke, GB&I win Walker Cup
European Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter talks to Steve Burkowski about watching his son, Luke, and Great Britain and Ireland comeback to win the 51st Walker Cup.

Certainly has been a part of many big moments.
Now you got to watch your son and Great Britain and Ireland mount the biggest comeback in the history of the Walker Cup.
How do you describe what we just saw?
Absolutely thrilling.
As a dad, as a fan, as someone who loves golf and has been part of golf, that was truly special to see the boys come up 17 and 18 and, you know, for Josh literally to have that last putt on the last hole to, to literally clinch it was epic.
And, you know, all the guys that had to come up 18, that had to get something out the hole and, you know, Elliot and, and all of the boys and Connor, you know, they've done such a special job, and it was great to observe and, you know, watch the lads really get that special moment.
And Dean, he's done an amazing job, you know, the last couple of years.
What does it say about Dean to keep this team motivated?
They had a big mountain to climb in a format that the Americans dominated, that he still kept them settled.
Yeah, they did, but they've, they've bonded extremely well.
They had a number of lads come back from last year to this year.
Dean had a great atmosphere in the team room this week.
I was only in there for a short period of time, but the buzz between the boys was very special and, you know, they took it on the course.
That was a hard morning in tough conditions.
But, you know, to come out e- early in the, the singles this afternoon and, you know, put some blue on the board and then, you know, to watch the boys finish it off, amazing.
How would you best describe the atmosphere we just saw when Josh Hill clinched it?
It's emotional.
You know, as a dad, as, as a golf fan, I, I, I think, you know, I feel for all of them.
I've kind of been on the other side of that and now, you know, kind of to enjoy that and to watch them enjoy it themselves, it's, it means a lot to the whole team and, you know, all of, all of the lads.
That was a hard-fought out win today.
More nervous when the putter's in your hand or you're outside the ropes watching?
It's not easy at all.
It's not easy.
I just, you know, just a lot of pride and, very proud of, you know, of each and every one of them.
They've, they've, they've done an amazing job this week.
