The Jalen Carter Contract Situation Just Got Even More Difficult
The Philadelphia Eagles have a major decision looming as Jalen Carter's contract extension talks become even more complicated following Jeffrey Simmons' massive new deal with the Tennessee Titans, which has once again reset the market for defensive tackles. Today, we discuss what Carter's next contract could now look like. Will the Eagles actually be willing to make him the highest-paid DT in the NFL?

There was one report put out that said the Eagles are reportedly hesitant to pay Jalen Carter.
And on top of that, the next domino fell, which is Jeffrey Simmons received a three-year, one hundred and five point eight million dollar extension from the Tennessee Titans.
And if you know Howie Roseman, he's a guy that likes to get ahead of things.
He likes to be the one to set the precedent, to reset the market.
So in one sense, I am pretty surprised that he did not beat everybody else to the punch.
Are they actually going to get this done?
I believe wholeheartedly that you just have to roll with Jalen Carter.
You have to pay the money.
He's good enough when healthy, right?
Not dealing with a shoulder injury.
He is one of the best defensive tackles in the entire league.
He's one of the best young and up-and-coming players.
He has shown that time and time again.
So will Jalen Carter now get more than thirty-five million?
Will he get thirty-six?
Will he get thirty-seven?
Now you're gonna have to pay an upcharge for it.
I think that's gonna create a little bit of an interesting dynamic here.
I also find it interesting that the Eagles got Jordan Davis's contract done and out of the way early in the off-season.
He was the first one to sign, and he got twenty-six million per year.
And Howie is, again, trying to prioritize keeping these young guys around and allocating the money the right way
