There has been a clear focus by the Cowboys in these first couple of practices to work on the Cowboys' screen game, and I think that is potentially huge for the offense.
Now, granted, I know screens can get a little bit predictable if you go about them the wrong way.
In fact, I remember a time when we as Cowboys fans, media, and content creators consistently complained about the Cowboys' frequent use of screen passes.
However, I will say it's been a long time since running backs have been a threat in the Cowboys' passing game, and that might change in 2026.
The Cowboys are trying to get Javonte Williams more involved as a pass catcher.
We've seen him in many of these clips from training camp catching the ball, running after the catch, and dealing some damage like that.
There's one play in particular that stood out from practice on Thursday where Dak Prescott finds Javonte Williams, Caleb Downs comes crashing down as a blitzer, and I think, I mean, we don't have the full view, so it's tough to know, but it looks like Caleb Downs is caught off guard by the screen
