It's been reported upon that Jaxson Dart has been, not struggling, but a little bit slow to get going adapting to the new offense.
And if you recall last week, I discussed how there has been a major difference in the way that the offense has looked during camp.
That was gonna be obvious.
But the more important thing is that it was gonna take time for Dart to get adapted to that new system.
Now, the big, major change has been that Dart has been asked to be under center a lot more.
He was not a under center quarterback in college.
He was definitely not an under center quarterback as a rookie.
Brian Daboll, early on, and for the entirety of the rest of the season after he was fired, they babied him.
He was in shotgun, this is per Duggan in his article, he was in shotgun 79.9% of the time last year.
I knew it was a lot, but I didn't realize it was that much.
One quarterback who's in shotgun a lot in the NFL is Lamar Jackson, and he was only in shotgun 67.1% of the time.
So, there is a stark separation for how much Dart was basically running most of the Ole Miss playbook that he was running last year as a rookie
