Jiri Prochazka says he was 'just sparring' after Carlos Ulberg injury at UFC 327

On April 11 at UFC 327 in Miami, Jiri Prochazka said a moment of lost focus shaped his main-event defeat, clarifying earlier comments about showing mercy. In a video statement, Prochazka recounted seeing Carlos Ulberg injure his knee during their UFC 327 main event for the vacant light heavyweight title. He said his performance dropped to "40–50%" after that moment, while Ulberg stayed composed and scored a first-round knockout. Prochazka compared the scene to a past injury he fought through, called the lapse a major mistake, and plans a brief break after his daughter's birth before resuming negotiations. Ulberg has undergone ACL surgery, leaving his defense timeline uncertain, and Prochazka expressed motivation and confidence he could earn another title shot before Ulberg returns.
