Jose Ramirez Exits Guardians Spring Training Game With Injury

Jose Ramirez was removed from the Cleveland Guardians Cactus League game on Sunday with what the team is calling "shoulder inflammation."

Video Transcript

Definitely not the news that many of us were hoping for this evening, but Jos Ramrez was removed from the Cleveland Guardians game against the Athletics on Sunday with what Steven Vogt is calling shoulder inflammation after he was sliding into third base earlier in the game.

Ramrez was removed in the fourth inning after he went one for two with the double, two RBI and a strikeout.

And as I was saying, Vogt after the game was calling this just a day-to-day thing, a couple of days for now.

Vogt did not mention whether or not that Ram-- if Ramrez would end up needing an MRI or imaging, and he promised to give an update on the status of the Cleveland Guardian superstar on Monday.

So right now, we're just kinda hoping that this is not something that's gonna keep Ramrez out of the lineup or out of action for too long.

As of Sunday, opening day is eleven days away, which hopefully is going to be enough time for Ramrez to heal up and get back into the Guardians lineup.

We know that Cleveland, if they wanna go on and win a third straight American League Central Division title and get back to the playoffs and give themselves a chance to win the World Series, they're gonna need Ramrez to be playing at an MVP level.

That includes with him being on the field.

So as of right now, let's hope this is nothing serious, but we'll have to wait until Monday to see what Vogt has to say about Ramrez's injury.
