They did put six on the board today, though, and there actually were some positive signs for the offense, which we do need to talk about.
So we're gonna get to What's Hot, presented by Service Champions.
Because we have to shout out Jung-hoo Lee, despite, of course, the horrible ending to this game.
He's been not just one of the hottest bats for this team, but in Major League Baseball.
We've been talking about it over the last few weeks.
Unbelievable, Lee has been in the series, as you look at the .455 batting average, pace, the offense, really, three RBI triple today, two knocks, including a double yesterday, went two for three with a walk in the series opener on Tuesday.
Had a home run in that game as well.
But this was a big hit during this rally here.
Big hit, especially after he got down 0-2 and against a lefty.
I mean, last year we were talking about him not playing against lefties.
Right.
Now he's one of the best hitters in National League.
He's playing against lefties.
He's fighting off pitches on 0-2 counts, and he's putting the ball in play with two strikes on him.
And this is the thing for me.
When you put the ball in play, you see what could happen sometimes.
A guy misplays a ball or a guy dives, and it's a triple, and you get three RBIs.
But, he's had a fantastic run this year.
Not to mention, you know, I, I am totally forgetting his bally drop in right field the other night 'cause it really didn't matter, in the end.
Yeah.
But he's played some great defense out there in right field, too, especially this series against the A's.
We said we'll give him one pass.
It's a pass.
I think we agree.
I'll give you a pass.
We'll, like, give you one pass.
going back to his triple in the sixth, though, 'cause you brought up the fact that he showed a lot of patience in that at bat.
Goes down 0-2, fouled off two pitches before- Mm-hmm eventually getting the hit.
So his plate discipline and, and like I said, just some of that patience in there, putting together quality at bats, has been such a huge difference this season.
Well, I think the, the one thing I've noticed with him is, especially the pitches away- Mm-hmm that, you know, 0-2 or whatever count, instead of what we saw in the last couple years, like getting out in front and rolling over to second basement, we're seeing him either hit them the other way or foul them off and fight them off, and that's what we saw today out of him.
and we've seen it now for the last six weeks of the season.
I mean, you know, I, what was he, second in baseball on average coming into today?
Yep.
And, uh- Still second last I checked.
Yeah.
And he's, and he's, you know, I mean, he's still kind of a guy that flies under the radar, though.
Mm-hmm.
Because besides the average, you know, it's not a huge power numbers.
There's not huge RBI numbers.
Right.
But he's playing pretty solidly for this team.
Yeah, Jung-hoo Lee could win a batting title.
Maybe he'd be above the radar after that.
Who knows?

Comes through with both the arm and hammer.
Two elite throws to gun down runners, both last night and today, and then a couple of big, big knocks with a walk-off home run yesterday, sixth inning today, two outs, just like last night.

He hits a moonshot again.
Again, Richie, 445 feet off the bat for Victor Barracoa.
I mean, he gets a prime cut fastball right down the middle there.
I mean, I'm gonna say, I haven't watched him play too much, but he knows he gets it when he gets it, 'cause if you're standing there like that- you know you got And what's the fun fact with yesterday's home run, today's home run, Kailyn?
The fun fact is that his walk-off home run last night was 108.7 miles per hour off the bat, went 445 feet.

What are the odds of that happening?
Talk about- That's like lightning striking twice, right?
Talk about consistency.
I mean, that's, you can't get more consistent than that.
And e- especially a young man who's, you know, going probably through some emotional stress- Yeah right now with the earthquakes in Venezuela, to be able to get on the field and focus like that and contribute.
And again, throw another guy out at second base today.
He threw a guy out at the plate last night.
you know, when Ramos is coming back soon.
Mm-hmm.
And this is what you wanna see out of your guys that get an opportunity to play every once in a while, is contribute.
And he's not only contributed, he's been a big contributor.
So we'll see when Ramos comes back.
I mean, i- i- are they gonna send him down?
Are they gonna send Cox down?
You know, w- what's the move gonna be?
But Ramos is getting there, getting pretty ready to get back up here, and we'll see what happens to Victor Barracoa.
Yeah, it's good to have some competition, for sure.
But also, we do want to shout out Victor Barracoa and all of those who are, dealing with the aftermath of those two massive earthquakes yesterday in Venezuela.
Across the league, a number of players and their families affected.
