The Kansas City Chiefs will get another chance of walking a delicate tightrope in twenty twenty-six as they try to master the art of contending while being one of the youngest teams in football.
Kansas City checks in third as the youngest team with their initial fifty-three man roster according to Spot Track behind only the rebuilding Miami Dolphins and the Cleveland Browns who have been stacking draft picks like nobody's business over the last couple of seasons.
The conversation about being a young team obviously is a little different when you have Patrick Mahomes as your starting quarterback as compared to Deshaun Watson or first year full-time starter Malik Willis.
Kansas City's youth movement is obviously very high profile with what went on in the secondary and trading Trent McDuffie and restacking that room and leaning into Noel Williams and drafting Mansoor Delane.
It's a really exciting chance for Steve Spagnuolo to get a little extra youth and juice into this group as a whole, and Kansas City has obviously done this before.
They have competed through transitions but not had to have a bounce back season after what was a disastrous last year for Kansas City.
The hope needs to be that they have the leadership in the right places to pick themselves up off the mat, dust themselves off, use that ignorance of youth to their advantage and go out and get themselves back in the postseason.
Now that we have cut all of the teams to fifty-three players on their rosters, we're one step closer to football.
