The Detroit Lions wrapped up their first preseason contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.
I'm John Mccaroon reporting for Detroit Lions on SI with a few key takeaways from the Lions' performance.
Obviously, a little sloppy.
You realize that it's the first time the team has taken the field.

Up and down, showed some poise early on with some accuracy, some precision, a solid arm, but you realize that you gotta have your fundamentals.
You can't turn the ball over, especially that, to put the Bengals in that good a field position.
Ahmed Hassanin definitely jumped off the page with his performance, a sack early on Joe Burrow.
All night long, just showcasing his energy, passion, being moved around the defensive line.

is going to be listed as a winner in everybody's reports after a great performance against the Bengals.
Unfortunately, when you're the Detroit Lions, one of the factors you always got to pay attention to his injuries.
Ennis Rickshaw was unable to finish the game, unfortunately, suffering an injury in the first half, being evaluated for a left arm, potential shoulder injury that kept him away from being able to perform in the second half.
You realize that it was just a little bit too sloppy at times from Isaac Tesla, Miles Frazier did not have their best performances, but a couple of players really started to stand out.
Keith Abney, Nick Whiteside, and Jacob Sailors all stood out for their The Performances, they were able to handle the responsibilities, make plays, and were around the football.
So, when you look at it moving forward, those players should have more opportunities in training camp to continue to grow and develop.
Unfortunately for Ennis Rakestraw, Miles Frazier.
Isaac Tesla, not the best performances, far too many situations in which Isaac Tesla should have made plays, a couple drops, and an opportunity where he should have secured the football that resulted in an interception from Luke Altmeyer.
So you realize it's the first performance, and the Detroit Lions will go back to the drawing board and resume training camp this weekend, but not the best performance early on for the Detroit Lions in their first preseason game against the Bengals.
