The Las Vegas Raiders Made A Surprise Late Staff Hire
The Raiders made a surprise hire earlier today when they signed former Alabama staff member and assistant wide receivers coach Torrey Gill. Gill is expected to be a consultant to the offense, will he find success in Las Vegas with Klint Kubiak's offense?

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a staff hire, and this comes just a few days after their first preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
I'm Justin Church of AZ Sports Las Vegas, and what we have here is, the Raiders bringing in a bright, young, really forward-thinking, minded coach.
And according to Matt Zenitz, the Raiders are expected to hire Alabama assistant wide receivers coach Torrian Gill as a quality control coach.
And I can tell you that this is a guy who is ver- definitely bright and, a guy that is looked at as a coach who could be up-and-coming.
You know, he participated in the Raiders preseason as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship.
And that was his second experience with the team under the program because he spent four months with the Raiders, from May to August of twenty-twenty three.
He's from Corvallis, Oregon.
He was originally expected to join, Oregon State as the Beavers wide receiver coach.
Instead, he remained at Alam-Alabama until the Raiders presented him with a full-time role as their, quality control coach.
So there's not a whole lot of information out there.
We will learn more as we go, but this is a hire that I think is really good on Clint Kubiak.
You know, he said, this off-season that his staff is comprised of, a lot of veteran guys, but also a lot of young guys who are up-and-coming because he wants a mix of both of those types of personalities on his coaching staff.
And I think we're already starting to see some of that play out here.
And, Torrian Gill could end up being a really good hire because you can never have too many quality control coaches, especially young-minded ones who, see the game in a forward-thinking, role.
So yeah, we'll see how this plays out.
