James Wood hit an inside-the-park grand slam in the second inning as the Mets fell to the Nationals 9-6. Bo Bichette hit two home runs in the first two innings, but two errors by the New York defense and a rough start from Nolan McLean were big factors in the loss.

The Mets have gotten a big infusion of energy from their rookies, and today they added to their youth, athleticism, and speed by calling up Nick Morabito.
