Miami Falls at Notre Dame as Top 10 Losses Hit 21 in College Football

Top 10 teams have lost 21 times through the first 10 weeks of the 2026 college football season, and seven of those losses came from teams ranked No. 1 or No. 2. Miami came in unbeaten and on top of the first College Football Playoff rankings, then fell 31-24 at Notre Dame as CJ Carr threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns. Ohio State followed its loss to USC with another to Oregon, which scored 38 unanswered points. Georgia rolled Ole Miss 42-7 after its earlier upset loss to unranked Auburn, Tennessee beat Kentucky 34-6, and Utah and UCLA stayed unbeaten. The 12-team playoff gives contenders room to recover, but nobody's path is secure.
