Notre Dame Beats Top-Ranked Miami 31-24, Ends Hurricanes' Perfect Season

Notre Dame beat top-ranked, previously unbeaten Miami 31-24 on Saturday night, a win the Fighting Irish badly needed for their College Football Playoff hopes. C.J. Carr threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns in the first half as Notre Dame built a 17-3 halftime lead, with Jordan Faison adding a toe-tap touchdown catch and a punt return that set up another score. With Malachi Toney out, Cooper Barkate caught two second-half touchdowns for Miami, but the Hurricanes' defense gave up 412 total yards. Free safety Luke Talich sealed it on fourth down, knocking the ball out of Elijah Lofton's hands in the end zone to deny a game-tying touchdown.
