Michigan Adds Alex Bauman, Jeremiah Earby Days Before Penn State

Michigan is adding former Miami tight end Alex Bauman and former Boise State cornerback Jeremiah Earby through the transfer portal. Both enrolled days before the Wolverines face Penn State, after temporary restraining orders gave each of them an extra season of eligibility. Bauman started his career at Tulane and caught 18 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown as Miami reached the national championship game. Earby, who also played at Cal, had 60 tackles and four interceptions on his way to second-team All-Mountain West honors. They arrive with Michigan's passing offense ranked last in the Big Ten and its pass defense leading the league at 146.8 yards allowed per game.
