The Chicago Bears had a historic win over the Green Bay Packers in the wildcard round of the playoffs for a number of reasons.
It was the first time they'd won a playoff game since 2010, and it was the atmosphere at Soldier Field made for a great backdrop in what was a colossal comeback for the Bears.
They were down 21-6 at one point in the fourth quarter and ended up winning 31-27 to eliminate the Packers from the postseason.
While it was a great win for the organization, there were a couple losses along the way in terms of players.
Both Ozzie Trapillo and linebacker T.J. Edwards suffered season-ending injuries during the game.
For Edwards, he injured his fibula, and then Trapillo had a patellar injury and is now expected to miss most of the 2026 season.
Luckily, Edwards has been back with the team after being on the NFI football injury list at the start of training camp.
He has come off that list ever since and has been with the team at practice as he is still recovering from his injury but is getting there.
With Trapillo, it's not looking too great.
At least it wasn't until Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer released an article about his time at Bears training camp and hinted that Trapillo's injury may not take as long to recover from.
He talked about the competition at left tackle at training camp, which features Braxton Jones, Theo Benedette, Kieran Omega-Jay, and even Jedrick Wills Jr., and noted that Trapillo may be back sooner than fans had realized.
If this is the case, it would be great for the state of the offensive line as Caleb Williams would have the best option at left tackle available sooner rather than later.
Benedette and Jones are probably going to be the front runners for the job, and while they do have some promise, their ceiling is definitely not as high as it is for Trapillo.
Benedette and Jones could both be bridge players, and they may not have to be that for as long if Trapillo is able to come back from this injury.
Hopefully, Breer's speculation is correct, and Trapillo will be back in the starting lineup sooner than we know it.
