The Chicago Bears, like many other teams in the NFL, are beginning training camp very soon, which means that the, the players who are on the PUP list to start training camp have been released.
For the Bears, it was Kyler Gordon, Ozzy Trapillo, Shamar Turner, Noah Sewell, and rookie KeShawn Elliott.
And then, they also announced that, T.J. Edwards would be on the non-football injury list.
Gordon's, streak of injuries has, not ended as he unfortunately dealt with, groin and hamstring injuries all of last season.
And then, for Trapillo, he obviously suffered that, unfortunate patellar injury in the Green Bay Packers wildcard game as, T.J. Edwards also got injured during that same game.
And then, Sewell got an injury, in, in the regular season finale against the Detroit Lions, and the injury to Elliott has not been disclosed yet.
But hopefully all of these will be short-term and, not keep these players out for very long.
Like the Bears, the Green Bay Packers have also, released who is going to be on their PUP list and, it was a very big player that ended up there as, it was edge rusher Micah Parsons.
ESPN's Adam Schefter, shared some further insight into the injury and, shared that he is expected to miss the start of the regular season.
The-- If we go back and look at some comments from a Packers reco- reporter named, Rob Demovsky, he, shared that, Parsons still has four more months, going into his, recovery from the torn ACL that he suffered late in the season last year.
That was, revealed back in June, which means that, his timeline to be ready to play again is looking like mid-October.
And, for the Bears, this could be a stroke of good luck as, they play the Packers earlier than last year, taking them on in week five, which is on October eleventh.
The Bears' offensive line, is well-equipped to handle somebody like Parsons, but we do know that there's going to be some, some inconsistency at left tackle with the injured Trapillo.
Braxton Jones and Theo Benedet are expected to be placeholders until he's ready, but it's looking like Trapillo is going to miss most of the season, so we don't really know when to expect a comeback from him.
Luckily, the Packers and Bears, don't play again after week five until, Christmas Day, so hopefully Trapillo will be ready to go by then, and, they will not have to worry about Parsons at least, in week five, which is going to be a key matchup that is gonna take place at Lambeau Field, whereas the Bears know is a very hard place to win.
We'll have to wait and see, how far along Parsons is in his recovery at that point.
But, it's looking like the Bears, may end up not having to face him, which is never a bad thing as Parsons is one of the best at his position when healthy.
He's made five straight Pro Bowls, and that just doesn't happen by accident.
