Connor Murphy has had his minutes increase, which feels insa- insane to say given he's coming from Chicago, but the Edmonton Oilers defense is so terrible that, they don't really have a choice.
Well, he fills a need, right?
Like, in Chicago you kinda get it because they wanna give young- For sure young players the ice time.
But you talked about defenseman who get blocks and hits, Connor Murphy's perfect.
And they needed a right side D-man who's good in his own zone.
And I'm not surprised that Connor Murphy got more, so many more minutes, but to your point, it is embarrassing that the pl- that the Oilers are at this point.
We'll talk about the goaltending in a little bit, but- Why don't we talk about it now?

I mean, let, let's just say- Yeah, we're on the Oilers Con- Connor Murphy was a desired asset in the marketplace, right?
I mean, that's why the cost was so high.
I mean, I think if I remember, the release was a half a dozen teams, maybe even more, that were in the sweepstakes, right?
And Edmonton, as Jason said, was desperate for a right side defenseman who could play well in his own zone.
So the fact that his, his value has increased based upon his usage is only somewhat surprising because there was a hefty price to pay in order to get him, to bring him over to Edmonton.
And if you look at the rest of that blue line, they certainly needed somebody else on the right side besides Bouchard, 'cause right now your third pairing is Spencer Stastny and Ty Emberson, who's hurt.
So there was a crying need for a second pair right side defenseman.
