Noah Desmond Is Excited To Be One Of The First Faces Of IMG Academy
Incoming freshman Noah Desmond shares his thoughts after spending time on campus at IMG Academy before their inaugural season.

All right, here with Noah Desmond, here at IMG Academy at, at camp and this is the summer before the first year of IMG Academy.
How are you feeling about this brand new program?
I'm feeling good.
I'm excited to have everybody here to be part of the team.
Yeah.
How much time have you been able to spend here this summer?
Well, I was in, Utah for 16U.
Then I was in Fargo for Fargo and I haven't been here much.
I've been here for, like, the past three weeks.
It's been fun though.
Yeah.
I'm excited.
Yeah.
What do you like most about the facilities here?
Just that they have, like, they have, like, the cameras to, like, tell what you need at, at certain times, so they always know what you need.
Yeah.
And that's really good.
Yeah.
How did you first hear about IMG Academy?
Do you remember, like, the first time you ever heard about it?
So my parents knew the coaches from my brother, like, taking visits to all the colleges.
So they just, like, texted us and we just, we didn't really have anywhere to go, so we just decided to check it out and then we started liking it a lot, so.
Yeah.
What were some of the other programs you were thinking about going to for high school?
So I was at Cerb for one point, but we left there just, like, I don't know why.
They, they're pretty good but I don't really know, just, like, stuff happened.
Then I was, like, maybe thinking about Faith just 'cause they're really good too, but this really stood out 'cause I really love the coaches and my parents were good with it, so we just decided to come here.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So you're starting your freshman year.
You know, you get to be probably one of the faces of, of a, of a brand new program.
Is that something that's exciting to you?
It's really exciting.
It's, it's great that all the kids are gonna be here.
I was here last year, like, I was the first one.
I was here last year.
There's no one here.
It's kinda boring, but I'm really excited to have the whole team here.
It's gonna be fun.
Yeah.
You know, you, you've got, you know, obviously your, your brother's had a lot of success in wrestling.
What's it like to have an older brother that's, that's maybe You've seen him do a lot of things in the sport.
It's hard 'cause you expect a lot from yourself and everybody else does too, but I'm just rolling with it and just getting better every day.
That's all I can do, right?
Yeah.
You know, you, you talked about, like, look- you were looking for a program.
When you got down here and got on campus and, and met the coaches, what stood out to you as, as maybe, like, some of the best, best, parts of being here?
I like how there's, like, different kids from all around, like, all around the world.
It's really cool 'cause you get to, like, like, understand the language kind of and it's, it's really fun.
It's nice to meet new people.
Have you learned anything from maybe how, like, other, other teams in other sports ha- like, look at, at, at their sport?
Well, not really.
I think, like, we look at it different as everyone, than everybody else because it's such, like, a hard sport.
It's, like, unique I guess.
I, I don't mind how people, like, look at their sport, but I just think it's different how we do it.
Yeah.
Yeah.

So your brother's Nate.
How, how do you think, his season's gonna go this year?
I don't know.
I'm hoping for the best.
It's exciting.
I really hope he does well.
I believe in him, so- What, what weight do you think he's gonna go?
41?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I, I, I would think so, yeah.
That's what they were talking about, but I don't know for sure obviously 'cause I'm not, I'm not there, I'm not a part of the team, but- Yeah.
