Notre Dame Star Projected As Top Five Pick In Tom Fornelli's Latest Mock Draft

Notre Dame's explosive running back Jeremiyah Love rockets up draft boards, poised to be a top-five selection and revitalize a struggling NFL backfield.

Video Transcript

When we found out he was only going to do the 40, like he did all the running back drills and they even had him doing receiver stuff afterwards.

So like we saw him do those drills.

What Trev's talking about is he didn't do the vertical, the, the broad.

He didn't do the 20-yard shuttle.

He didn't do the thir- the three cone.

He didn't do anything other than 40.

And I had always kind of envisioned Jeremiah Love as like a low 4.4 guy.

But we said last week when we previewed the Combine, Trev, that for him to announce he's gonna run the 40, he thought he was gonna run a really fast time.

And you could see it when he ran the 4.37 and the 4.36.

Like him and his dad were both kind of disappointed .

You know what I mean?

Like, he's like, "Yeah, I thought I was gonna get a four."

I was like, "4.2?"

But look, I mean, and the Here's the thing I like about it, and this is true for a lot of the Notre Dame players.

Jadarin Price is the same way.

Jeremiah Love worked out at 214 pounds he said.

He weighed in the day before at 212, which meant he ran that 4.36 at his playing weight.

Like, he didn't lo- And he even said at the end, he's like, you know, "I have to lose weight so I can do..." Like, like nah, dude, trust me, NFL scouts don't care about that.

They're like, "Dude, this guy's 212 and he ran a 4.36.

Like, this is, this is what we wanted to see."

He didn't slim down to go run fast.

Jada- Jadarin Price was 203.

That's basically his playing weight.

Malachi was 218.

Eli Radner was 245.

Those guys were all basically at their playing weights.

And I think NFL teams are gonna see that, or at least good scouts are gonna see that and be like, "Hey, that, that means a little bit more to me than some guy that lost seven, eight pounds so he could take a sh- shove a couple hundred, you know, or shave a couple hundred tenths of a second off of his 40 time."

I, I think Jeremiah Love, certainly, proved a lot.

And, and look, I think something else that, that impacted Jeremiah Love is he did very well in the back drills, the, you know, the, the running back drills.

The fact that they had him staying afterwards to run receiver routes I think is, is gonna help him a- as well, Trev.

And, and you can see it in the mock drafts already.

You can see it in the people talking.

I saw Todd McShay was like, "There's no way Jeremiah Love gets out of top five."

I sent you a, a, a Sports Illustrated mock draft from today.

I've seen another mock draft.

You know, now he's going eight to the Chiefs is now the or eight to the Saints is now the lowest I've seen him.

We're seeing four, five.

So I, I think Jeremiah Love certainly helped himself a ton with this workout and, and you're seeing people now more, you know, more loudly saying, "This is the best player in the draft."

I mean-
