Notre Dame's newest Five-Star recruit may be the best one they have recruited so far!
Ryan Roberts ranks each of Notre Dame's 5-star commitments and reveals why he believes Darieon Prescott has the highest ceiling and the best chance to become a future college football star.

I'm gonna have a conversation about and a deeper debate on who I believe are the best of those four.
And the great part of this is that I'm not debating who's number one and then number four is a three-star player, we are debating who is the elite of the elite that Notre Dame has been able to grab.
And there's gonna be some recency bias to a degree, but I'm okay with that.
I'm okay to be excited for the recruitment, recruiting impact that we are seeing from Coach Partridge.
I'm very excited about it.
So number one for me is 2028 edge, Darian Prescott, which again, I understand there's gonna be some recency bias.
People are gonna put in the comments like, "You're just thinking too small, small picture of what just happened."
I completely get it.
I understand it, but I have seen videos of this young man this off-season.
I loved his sophomore film in general out of Bolingbrook.
I really thought that he was an impressive athlete, length for days, body type, tremendous just physical talent.
And then I saw him this off-season where he's listed on recruiting platforms at like 220, but he's recruiting-- he's reportedly up to like 255, somewhere in that ball, in that range, and it's not a bad 255.
He looks really good athletically, moving around incredibly well.
I think that this kid could contend to maybe be the best player in the 2028 class when all is said and done.
Like, I think he's that high, 'cause he's already the, on 247Sports, he's already rated as the number seven overall player on their individual ranking, and he's a top 20 overall player on the consensus.
So we are talking about a player who is thought about in that elite level category already, and if he takes a leap to his junior season that he looks physically, I'm all in on the upside and development.
So number one for me is Darian Prescott.
Number two, I got Ronnie Dunham.
I was huge on Ronnie Dunham in the 2026 class.
If you guys go back and look at just some of my thoughts and my grades and all that type of stuff, I was sky-high on the potential, 'cause he was also a kid that was underrated slightly by, not the recruiting service, he was like a top 10 overall player in the cl- in the class according to the composite ranking.
But he was underrated by some because I do think that he missed obviously some time during his last couple years due to injury.
But on the hoof, 6'4", 240 plus already, he's come to South Bend already, and he's made an instant impact and be able to make his, his case for why he should play a ton in a really deep defensive end room that you kind of blink your eyes and it is extremely deep and talented, and he's that good.
Like, he's gonna play early.
And I, I think that says something, and this is just like a personal preference for me, but the dual sport athletes, and for people that didn't follow Ronnie Dunham's high school career, he was an excellent baseball player.
The guys that are just naturally good at pretty much everything they do, that speaks volumes to athleticism to me.
Like, Ronnie Dunham can go on a pitcher's mound and throw 90-plus miles an hour, and then he can go sack a quarterback.
I think that that means something for me.
That's all around athleticism, and that's why I always love when guys are multi-sport athletes.
So when you look at a player like Ronnie Dunham, I think that he is somewhat raw in terms of like nuance, hand usage, pass rush plan, but if you're betting on an athlete, I am betting on that dude all day.
He looks like a future first-round player to me in terms of physically.
He has to be productive, he has to ascend.
The, like, there's no guarantee that he ends up being that player, but just from a pure talent perspective, he has every tool in the toolbox athletically to be that type of guy.
So number two, Ronnie Dunham for me.
Number three, again, it's got, you gotta bake in another year of, of high school football here, but I'm going with Abraham Ceesay in the 2027 class.
Six foot five, about 225, 230.
This kid is extremely long, really flexible, moves exceptionally well for his size, and he has a frame where he's gonna be 250 plus very early in his Notre Dame career.
This kid, and this is a cliche, but he just moves differently.
When I watch Abraham Ceesay, I can see the vision, and him partnering with the coaching of Charlie Partridge gives me all the upside and all the thought process in the world that he is gonna r- at least get close to what I perceive that ceiling to be.
So a little bit of a bet on traits with Abraham Ceesay, but I will take that bet every single day of the week, especially at the edge position.
And number four for me is Bryce Young, which is a hilarious thing to say when Bryce Young is a six foot seven, 260 pound man who ran like twenty-three, twenty-two nine or something like that in the 200 meters coming out of high school.
Like, this is a legit ridiculous athlete.
But he was, comparatively to the others even, he was arguably the most raw because he was a guy that early in his high school career was a wide receiver, was underdeveloped physically, had to put good weight on his profile.
But he was a guy that you knew that when his body filled out and the power came, he had every tool to play.
So he started last year in 2025, and there were some good moments obviously, but I'm hoping for a huge ascension for Bryce Young this season now going into his true junior year.
