NY GIANTS WR JALIN HYATT 2026 OUTLOOK

When the New York Giants traded up to take receiver Jalen Hyatt in the 3rd round of the 2023 draft, they were betting on speed.
Three years later, that bet has not paid off.
Hyatt appeared in just 7 games last season, ran 109 routes according to Pro Football Focus, and he averaged a career low 1.6 yards of separation.
He finished with 5 catches for 35 yards, and he's yet to score a touchdown in his 3-year NFL career.
Route running has been his primary Achilles' heel since college.
Again, according to Pro Football Focus, he's been connected to 7 career interceptions, including 2 of quarterback Jackson Dart's picks last year, which came about when Hyatt appeared to slow down mid-route while the ball was still in the air.
Now heading into 2026, Hyatt's path to the 53 man roster just got even narrower.
The Giants added rookie Malachi Fields and veterans Odell Beckham Jr. and Juju Smith-Schuster this offseason.
Hyatt is a hard worker.
John Harbaugh gave him a clean slate just like he did for everybody else on the roster, but Hyatt doesn't contribute on special teams, and his cap hit is almost entirely cuttable.
At this point, Hyatt, in whatever opportunities he does get this summer, needs to have a training camp performance of his life, if he's to salvage what's left of his dwindling Giants career and make this roster.
