Max Muncy was one for 17 heading into game seven of the 2025 World Series, but he made one change inspired by Corey Seager that led to him playing a huge role in LA going back-to-back.
So Muncy was getting very frustrated at this time because he felt he had tried everything at the plate, but he couldn't figure it out.
Specifically, he was struggling with his leg kicking out too much, and he wasn't able to generate much power from the lower part of his body.
This is when Dodgers hitting coach Robert Van Scoyoc suggests that he try the Corey Seager thing and point his right foot in to force it to load up and not kick.
Muncy took his advice, and it paid off in LA's most important game of the season.
He went on to go three for four and hit a massive home run in the eighth inning that cut the Blue Jays' lead down to one and set the stage for Miguel Rojas to tie it up in the ninth.
Even though his foot is no longer as pointed as it was in this game, he has still kept it as a part of his hitting cue to this day.
You may also remember that earlier this season, Freddie Freeman started using a setup inspired by Seager because he felt his hips were flying too open, and he wasn't able to hit the ball as hard as he was used to.
It's so wild to think that even on the last game of the season, one small change to a swing can make all the difference, and it's so incredible that old friend Corey Seager helped them without even knowing.
